Busted my 80, axle shaft opinions?

Well I stand corrected. My CTM axles have performed flawlessly.

So lets hear about the new axles, material, etc, pics??

You could call Haisley and ask them who's doing them...
Is it just me or does this guy know everything

If you are telling these guy's who makes what product and your wrong how is that informative. CTM use to make there shafts, they have since moved on.

Dan They are 300m shafts and for the Dana's they are 35 and 37 spline. There is also a 38 spline 1.625" for the AAM.

How well would an SCS mini spool and their 35 spline axles hold up?

Its a little cheaper than a 37 spline carrier and axles, but Its alot less of a pain in the rear not needing to set-up a dana 80 rear again when the minispool is a drop in

You still need a posi carrier for the mini spool

i already have a posi carrier, i wanna junk the spiders for the mini spool tho. if I break the spiders again it would be nice to drop int he $400 minispool with the stock axles then get some SCS 35 splines when money allows.

Thanks for the info Chris.

TJ, buy the full spool that is reasonable price on the full spool, you could get a couple hundred out of the posi unit, to help offset the price. If I had to do it again, I would have a spool back there instead of my ARB.

I had a post typed up, saying that, but I deleted it. So you still can't say who is making them? My "old" info was that 300M was hard to get ahold of.

I don't wanna pay someone to set up the rear again and i dont have the tools to do it myself, thats why I want the minispool.

Swapping the ring and pinion is a lot more work, just changing carriers isn't that bad.

maybe if I had a press and a set of set-up bearings...thats why i don;t wanna change the carrier

My truck sees zero street use pretty much. Feel that the full spool is stronger. I have had zero issues with the ARB also.

What is kind of funny I did some checking today and it seems that Haisleys are ordering axles from CTM.

I would rather have a spool than anything else back there with more than one part, meaning any kind of locker. Locker's have there places and thats usually a dual duty sled/street truck. Less parts = less to break. As far as the axles, SCS 35 or 37 spline, Haisley 37 spline, or Scheid 37 spline. Forget about the Yukon crap.

Bullet Proof Axle ?

I hear about these "bullet proof axles". Well that sounds great but I aint shotting at them. When I talked to one of the vendor for the BFAs I asked what if I break one pulling? Is there a warranty? Do you stock back up axles? The answer I got was no. If I switch to a spool and brake an axle I am screwed until I can get another axle made on my dime correct? Am I miss informed? I hope so because for $2000 some better stand behind them other than me.:bang

Using a mini spool like the SCS one will let you go back to stock if the needed.

John be patient I think there are some other spools in the works.
