cam chang benefits

i have recently ran the h2 with a stock turbo and it was way better, faster spool up and better mpg. i then several months later installed 90hp sticks with a silver bullet it was fine but way laggier, popped a head gasket 1 year later and figued what the hell if im going 2 pull the head might as well change cams just to see. went with a custom grind from greg and un frecken real what happened to bottom end spool up is even better than the h2 with the stock turbo and mpg went up even more not by much but it did, egts were down at top end. plus he is such a great guy to deal with and really goes out of his way to help thanks again greg
by the way i feel like a jack a** for not getting dyno # from before and after

If you have never heard of Diesel Pro Cams, Bill Fletcher in Washington State has started his own bussiness (Diesel Pros) His cam grinds are amazing.

I can not WAIT untill someone spends the time to do some dyno testing between the diff cams out there.
THis would be much better than just always having big pissing matches.

Maybe if I ever get slowed up we could get a canidate to do a shoot out between a few vendors.

Brett I'm in , you have a reputation of being fair and square, and calling it like it is , Cam is on the way when the others agree.

Hey comp, I can do you one better. There is a magazine article being done about cam comparisons in the next week, you want in? I will even let you install your cam if you want to. 2006 cr with a s366. You down?

Sounds like a fun afternoon of wrench pulling. Keep us up to date on what you guys find out for the best cams.

I don't go fight for the country I live in and then go stab it's economy in the back. :rules:

Good point, Mighty Goat. Near as I can tell, All the UGL's come from Brazil. The true billet's, I havent a clue. I would guess the USA, but that is a guess. Zack's stuff is made in the USA, except the cams which are canadian. Gregs stuff is 100% USA - even the cams. (Remember the castings are Brazil though.)

Mighty Goat, I like your pius holier than thou approach to cam selection. It is super convenient as a cheerleading aid for Greg and his made in brazil, but cut in the good ole U.S. of A. camshaft.

I definately respect the fact that you have served your country, and as such you are entitled to your opinions. With Greg and his Brazilian core that you purchased, don't you think this is a case of the pot calling the kettle black?

I am all about buying USA made, however US companies won't deal with you unless you spend 1 million per year. This dictates non domestic cam cores. However if the general consensus is that gear-heads want U.S. cams I will have them made tomorrow. However I don't think hard working guys such as yourself want a similar quality cam that is double the price($899-$999)....... Do you?

Finally sir, I would say you are quite the hypocrite. Have you ever been to walmart, home depot? 99% of the products are Chinese or whoever will ***** themselves out to be the lowest bidder. Have you ever been to any fast food restaurant employing illegals with fake papers, do you use german (bosch) injection products, or factory installed michelin (french) tires? Have you ever filled your tank at chevron, exxon,(middle east)? Have you ever purchased or consumed any produce? Because I can promise you white boys with four year degrees didn't pick them. Do you wear clothes only made in the USA? Heck even the U.S. military uses berets made in China. Finally will you drop the B.S. about gregs Brazillian cams being cut in the U.S.? Don't be so ignorant as to think that you are a not stabbing our economy in the back, vet or otherwise.

Once again, I respect your service but not your incorrect economic views or the greg hogue, Captain America cheersquad approach to marketing. If you want to knock me, please come up with more valid arguments. I can promise that I love my country as much as you do sir!

BTW i will have some cam (H2 vs. HD) comparisson numbers as well as 12v spring comparisson numbers tomorrow. Greg I wish I could have included your cam for the shootout. Maybe some other time though.

Um wow. Zack, you were just pushing the very fact that your stuff was made in the USA a couple pages back, but never disclosed that your cams are ground in Canada. Now you go off on a soap box about almost nothing being made in the USA, so we should feel good about buying your cam????

I do not think anyone is saying they will not buy from you because your UGL's are brazilian, as most are brazilian. However, you send your brazilian cams to Canada to be ground. Greg sends his to Mississippi to be ground, Don - Don't know that one. Scheid and Haisley - USA last I knew. There are USA ground cams availbale for about the same price as yours.

BTW, your treading on thin ice trying to ridicule a USA soldier!

BTW, your treading on thin ice trying to ridicule a USA soldier!

Again, What does this guy being a soldier have to do with CAMS!!!!!

Here, lets put this solider thing to rest.
I'm possibly going to get a lot of flack for this but dang.

Mighty Goat, Where you Drafted in or did you CHOOSE to enlist?

If you were drafted, 200% respect for you sir, but we know this isn't the case.

Sure, you put your balls on the line, but you choose, just like the average police officer. You can quit and become anything you choose here in the USA. Your job is no more valuable and important then mine sitting behind a desk managing servers so that we can develop products (that are made by US factory workers BTW). I'm not sure how much gold is minded here vs elsewhere, but from that point forward it's all USA made. So there! Put it to bed. Done with it. who cares.

See, simple black and white.. Lets get back to where they were made if that really matters and see who's cam is better! ON TO THE TESTING

[ off soap box ]

I got the impression he was overseas and phone calls are a little more difficult. Greg took the time to talk to him.

I guess I hold soldiers to a little higher respect. They put themselves on the front line so I can walk safely around in my own country. I am thankful for that. When I see someone not pay respect to a soldier, it makes my blood boil. The way Zack replied to him was disrespectful, and condescending.

We may not have a choice on where our injection components are made, but we do have a choice on reground cams. Remember Zach was the one pushing the fact his springs and pushrods are USA made, so he opened the door to this.

Actually, folks like Big Swolle (police officers) I suspect have a hair bit more impact on your personal security during the current state of "war" we are in at the time wouldn't ya think? I'm trying to remember when the last time he pulled the "I'm a police officer blah blah blah" card on anything?

Why should any one be "forced to" pay respect to a solider that choose to enlist? If he didn't pay respect, who cares. I did not see any direct disrespect for his profession did you? Sure he call him out personally, but that has nothing to do with his profession right? I'm can google VIDEOS of SOLDIERS in UNIFORM disrespecting a PUPPY DOG.

Zack as I read it, is obviously tired of everyone's ignorance and blindness to reality. that is all. Pull the horse blinders off really.
