cam chang benefits

I hold a lot of respect for our soldiers, as I stated in my post. Because you wear green doesn't mean you have a license to spout anything you want.

It is widely known that Geoff with Colt Cams does all of my grinding. I have never tried to hide that fact. He is a good guy even if he is a canook. I almost have him convinced to come to the U.S. So maybe someday soon I can say that they are cut here.

If any of you want a cam made in the U.S. that costs more, post up. If there is enough interest I WILL do it.

Zach

honestly as long as you got top notch products i dont care where they are made i go after the best products and if they are made in the us fine by me but most of the stuff out there you buy is not made in the us since its cheaper to make elsewhere and alot of the times a better product that is made in the us

I could almost drive a golf ball from Geoff's shop to the border.

It's funny I don't here a lot of complaining about the fact that people are getting parts from: Passenger Industries, Peak Diesel, BD Diesel, DTT, PDR ect.. All of which are just minutes from Colt.

Certain posts in this thread really literate why most of the world stereotypes the USA as "Lennie Small".

Um wow. Zack, you were just pushing the very fact that your stuff was made in the USA a couple pages back, but never disclosed that your cams are ground in Canada. Now you go off on a soap box about almost nothing being made in the USA, so we should feel good about buying your cam????

I do not think anyone is saying they will not buy from you because your UGL's are brazilian, as most are brazilian. However, you send your brazilian cams to Canada to be ground. Greg sends his to Mississippi to be ground, Don - Don't know that one. Scheid and Haisley - USA last I knew. There are USA ground cams availbale for about the same price as yours.

BTW, your treading on thin ice trying to ridicule a USA soldier!

I'm pretty sure your the only one that didn't know that colt ground hamilton's cams. Which all the gooroo s on here already know.
I think the title to the thread is cam change benifits. This has been interesting but most of us want the good and the bad about upgrading with these cams. I own a Hamilton cam and am very happy with the customer service as well as the cam. I'm sure that the other cams work well too. Also in a thread like this on a forum like this, pulling the soldier card is the same as the race card......it doesn't apply here, unless you all want us to say ahhh! Almost all my work is for my goverment and i go places i can't even talk about. You don't see me crying about buying all american products. Sometime u.s. stuff sucks.... seriously. Our economy is in hardship, not me. So i'll buy what i want, even if it comes from commy china. Called life, deal with it. Now, how about the benifits of changing your cam on a cummins?:bang*bdh*:bang*bdh*:bang

It sounds like these guys are jumping on Zach cause #1 cam are cheiper (cost) and ground on canada, #2 he is new to the cam buisness (what say less than 8 yrs right?) well who cares if the product works and has a good value it's whoever you choose to buy from right??? Gregs cheer squad need to lighten up a little and take a break, hell settle by doing a cam comparison looks like Zach is steppin up why hasn't Greg...Oh ya when was the last time someone pulled up to motorsports supply and had a cam installed the same day???? Wait does Greg have a shop??? If anyone doesn't know what I'm sayin just ask Greg, also ask if this diesel stuff is all he does...I'm sure we will get some "in pro sportsman class or top fuel this is what we do"

What is a Cast Billet?

Is it cast or Billet?

its cast

i cant remember why they call it that (or what the process is) but there is a difference and the final product is superior to cast iron

i dont like the name because it contradicts itself and it isnt what i consider billet

I did not know because I did not care. With pulling season right around the corner, I am at my busiest time of the year. I do not have time to surf the net all day. Guess I am not a "gooroo". I am happy with the cams I am using, but this thread caught my interest and I wanted to see what Zack had to offer. I have used cams from drop ins to monsters and have used several different suppliers to get them. I have my favorites already for each intended use. I may try one of Zack's cams someday, but for now I do not even know if he has one that will suit me.

Jason, no disrespect meant. I hold our soldiers in a high respect because they keep foreign threats at bay. There is a reason we have not had a foreign war fought on our soil.

Local law enforcement is important, but they usually show up to clean up the mess and take notes after a crime. I do not rely on law enforcement for my safety. I go prepared to handle threats to my familys safety on my own.

As for staying on topic, I think it has been well docummented earlier what benefits there are to changing cams.

Zack, do you have a list of cams you have available? I did not see anything on your site listing them.

your right, we put a stage II hamilton cam in a 05 CR and it really made the truck come alive, spools the silver bullet close to stock and really smoothed the truck out, I believe it gave us about 65hp but made the street manors much better...my 12v has a HD cam as well with a 64, 370 injectors and mild port on the head made 621hp on fuel with 35 inch tires..

Boy who would have thought a cam thread would turn into this *bdh*:bang

on his site go to forums then cams the custom cams gives tons of info on some of the cams they offer

I actually just sat and read this whole thread and honestly learned nothing about any of the cams. What a waste of time. I dont know why I continue to sit and read through these pissing match cam threads. Guess i'll just buy one and hope for the best.

All I will say is what what I have read in this thread is it is he said bullsh!t, and it wasnt stickin to the point. Also from what I have read how many of you guy a going to turn 4k-5k rpm daily driving or evening towing. IMO the only people that will be turning that high of rpms on regular pace is the sledder and drag guy, and maybe even the dyno queens. The highist rpm that I have ever pulled was 3k. :soap:

First of all... What do 12V springs have to do with cams?

Let me put it like this. I just got back from my 3rd tour in Iraq as a tank gunner. I try to buy the best for my truck. If it's made in Texas I'll buy it here. At the very least I buy American (when possible). Everyone know's all these cam blanks come from Brazil. Sure there's a few Chinese fence posts floating around. But Bullet said they weren't worth grinding and that's all the further that junk ever went. Well, after I did the research I only had 3 American ground choices.

Bill Fletcher at Diesel Pros
Don M at F1 Diesel
Greg Hogue at Maxspool Engineering

I went with Maxspool because he was the only person I could speak to directly. The only man that picked up the phone from a soldier in Iraq.

When possibe. When possible! As I stated earlier in this thread, I buy Americam WHEN POSSIBLE.

MY CAM WAS GROUND IN THE US PERIOD> Zach, can you say that? You can't say that your cam's are ground here in RED, WHITE, and BLUE. And yes, I was in Iraq. Calling during your distributing hours. Which, for you not in the know, is +16 hours. Sure, I didn't want to pull the card out. But, I did. That was my 3rd tour. Zach, how many tours do you have? How many friends have you lost, or scooped up off the ground? I'm combat arms, I do the real deal. What do you do for the U.S.? Other than send you cores out of our great country to get ground? If I can't get service then who can? It isn't a matter of wether I was drafted or not, it's a matter of I DID IT. And for your info, I loved it and re-uped on Christmas day in Iraq during my first tour and volunteered for my second.

You should first take pride in being an American. Then take pride in being a Texan. Instead, you have no pride at all. And you have the gall to blab about it on this forum. Way to go pal. A true American...

You all know how these threads are going to turn out... The only person that's ever going to post any actual info is Hogue.

Zach don't put yourself on a pedestal because you and Don shun him out of a shootout... Greg will put a cam in that "shootout" if I have to drive there, pull my own cam out on the spot, re-install it, and drive back to Ft. Hood, TX.
