DHRA Sled Pulling rule changes

I could really give a hoot if I pull DHRA or not. What was nice about DHRA, is they were publicized enough that other pulling organizations were somewhat close to the same rules. At least close enough to be able to fit closely in their classes. Who is for starting a not for profit organization, that just deals with delegates from other pulling arena's to help vote on a common set of rules. Say a delegate from Indiana, Ohio, Michigan(TTPA and FSTPA), Badge, Illinois, Kentucky, Several in Mo, and just have an voting section. Vote on the lower classes and follow the guidelines. 2.8 no rpm limit is fine and then maybe a 2.5 class also. Keep the rules simple. Then maybe anything larger than a 3.0 and water for an open class that twins can run in also. I am gonna guess the 2.5 and the 2.8 will get 85% of the pullers. How do we go about pulling this off?

Sorry I think PA thinks they pull there also. :) Iowa and whereever else.

yea so much for building my spare truck for 2.8 class what sucks is i just sold my 2.5 charger and bought a 76mm s400 wtf i dont think im running ss

They just eliminated a whole lot of trucks. To jump from a 2.8 to a 3.0 with unlimited chassis is crazy. I know I can't afford it. Can you?

Who needs Gieco!

I just saved a bunch money by not pulling with the DHRA in 2008.:hehe:

I'll not buy another turbo. The problem as stated earlier in this thread is that most of the local organizations base their rules off of the DHRA. Seems DHRA screwed the pooch, now what do we have to look forward to else where.
:rules:

So I take it just the major changes are just stated above...There for SuperStreet loses the twins, keeps the water, unlimited drive train and all the other rules that were introduced last year.

If that is the case I think I may just have a chance if I run down there for a season, just have to run a single which I was thinking of maybe doing anyway for running up here.

I guess we could still be at the top of street diesel, would they allow a 2.53" inducer?

A lot of us have been saying that 2.5 needs to replace WS. Or if you absolutely HAVE to have the WS class, then put 2.5 in between WS and 2.8. Now you've gotten rid of your most competitive class. That's just DUMB.

So WS doesn't have a payout, how much is the hook fee? Maybe they're going to use that money to pay the mod guys more since there payouts dropped last year???

Maybe they're hoping that this will bring more of the mod trucks out, which the fans like which brings in more money...

I don't think this decision was for the pullers it was for other reasons.

so much for going to a 2.8 next year, good thing i wasnt planning on pulling too many dhra pulls

Wow. I think I might be the only truck left in Missouri that qualifies for the new Street Class. I have to say, I agree with what the majority is saying. I could understand additions and minor tweaks to the classes, but dumping the 2.8 class? Huh? That Street Class is your bread and butter when it comes to the blue collar pullers and it's the class that affects the most people. Why such a significant change to your core class? I could understand the argument for adding the 2.5, but replacing the 2.8 with the 2.5? Why step backwards? I mean this is like restricter plate racing without any reason for it. I just don't see the rest of the other associations jumping in with you, if anything you look like you've alienated yourself. I mean come on, this is DHRA isn't it? Aren't you guys supposed to set the standard? Let's advance the sport, not take 2 steps back...

All I can figure they picked a major sponsor from a turbo manufature. And they want to sell turbos. Well guess what I keeping my Garrett!

This is so aggravating. This the closest I been to say F@#$ and sell the thing.

Maybe I should. Finish putting the LS1 in my 66 Nova SS. Go back drag racing gassers.:owned:

I've been preaching this for over a year. But I'm just a Ford guy.

Eric, I thought Rita said that said pulling would continue this year.. Maybe so but it will be dead after this year with rules like that.
Thats too bad, because we really enjoyed the DHRA events. Good people and good pulls.
