DHRA Sled Pulling rule changes

Thanks everyone, we will be going over the details of the classes after we all get back from SEMA.

I think this gives everyone a place to pull. As fast as diesel sled pulling is growing everything has to be addressed year to year. If there are enough trucks to fill a 2.5 class on a regular basis then that is fine. Glad to see the 2.8 class go no bushing.
I like this proposal!

there are usually 50trucks in the street class every weeekend here in ohio. EEP came up with these rules. they do allow lly's to pull, this is probably the fairest set of rules there are. if you dmaxes think you will be at a disadvantage then you need to call crank it up diesel, because kyle and his customers never had a problem competing in this class. there was even a ford that was top 5 at most of the pulls, he's a member here i forget his name though sorry, he just bought dave radzierez's mod puller

That would be Corey Atley with his 6.0 Puller. Very nasty truck!

There have been way more positive remarks than negative about these classes. Even on that Chevy site DP.*bdh* :poke:

Yea, Everyone seems to be gettin along now.. Although they were all gettin along they were just all ticked of before... Either way, People seem to like these a bit better... Just slightly....

No we're not, we still all hate each other... :hehe:

I like this draft better than that first "attempt" at rule changes. We have a lot of trucks in Missouri that hook, but we also have a lot of associations to pick from. So many that it spreads us a wee bit too thin, IMHO, to justify 2 classes. My guess would be that you'll see most associations here base their rules off the new Super Street class, since the other would be a step back for most pullers. If there is a second class added locally I would think it would be a Work Stock rather than Pro Street or Street Diesel.

I still think we're going to hear some noise about the bushings, more weight & RPMs, but the spread is at least a little better across turbo sizes. I understand the new class to get the KY,OH & IN regions that run the 2.5 class. I'm still wondering why we didn't up the 2.8 to a 3.0 or allow 3.0 bushings to get that GT42 in there. I realize you can get up there now in Pro Street, but again I doubt we see that class adopted locally. Just an opinion of mine, I guess we'll see how this all lands.

you could still run the GT4194R that is a 2.8 charger

I think you mean the gt4294 don't ya rod??

I assume that's what he meant as well... and I was meaning the GT4202, but yes the 4294 is good to go in 2.8

I like this draft a lot better to. I not sure yet what I am going to do. All the classes in PA are 3". That was what I am set up for. My bushing is no good now. I am glad they did away with bushing. To pull in the 2.8" class I will need a new turbo. I thought about getting one of my GT42s reworked. But just dont like that idea. I will need to see where and when the events are. If they are no where near than it is not worth buying another turbo just for one or two pulls. It would be easier to leave the biggin and the water on and run in the 3.0" class. Might get whooped.:kick: Might not.:rockwoot: Only one way to find out.:st:

For me staying 3" just seems like a better idea.

is it me or am i the only one that thinks DHRA could still be loosing the mod class, yes theres only a few out there but its what brings in the fans. I think they corrected them selves on the other classes. they will gain more mod pullers by there ss rules but loose the big ones. Why should we travel all over when we can pull the ppl or ntpa and have bigger purse's and localy for 90% of us is closer. I know for one I will be running for points on the PPL/OSTPA circuit this yr.

i agree, i know the haisleys were pulling with the ostpa last year and there will probably be more this year.

From what I understand, both the trucks will be at some point.

Kevin, You hit the nail on the head for street. 2.8 inducer, no rpm limit. the only other addition that would be nice is water set ups; maybe limited to one or two nozzles restricted to a specific nozzle size.

For the most part most people seem to like these rules. There are a few details to be worked out but the major components should be in place. There's plenty of time for the smaller things.

Whats up with PPLs 156" wheelbase rule in all diesel truck classes? I would not mind going to some PPL hooks. I have heard good things. My truck is to long though.:bang
