Disappointing Numbers with t66, think I need tuning!

S468 with their high flow cover and machined exhaust side on the way;). Just got the 50mm ED gate welded up this weekend as well by a friend and will put it on with the new charger! I can't wait!

If that doesn't net me some much better performance i'm going right to the bar for a week straight and then to home depot for a "for sale by owner" sign!:bang

From my experience the turbo sock will result in a touch higher EGTs, and it will take longer for the temps to come back down.

I've noticed that the temps do take a while to come down. I also have the manifold blanket so it holds heat even more so!

Most of the trucks I've put them on seem to have lower EGT's while idling, higher through the mid-range, and a touch lower at WOT. However, each turbo is different, so results vary a little. One thing that seems constant though is regardless of housing size, wrapping the exhaust housing results in faster turbo spool and how hard the boost hits.

I would say I agree with Levi's statement. At first I just placed the turbo sock on with no manifold/header swap and noticed the turbo coming to life a bit quicker and slightly quicker full boost swing. The manifold blanket I run now was installed at the same time as the pdi manifold so it's hard to make a direct comparison of its contributions. I'm very happy with the fit of these products though and it's very true that you can place your hand directly on the blankets after high temp wot runs and they don't even beging to burn your hands!

Glad it all worked out Nick. I had a guy describe the temperature of the Turbo Sock after 30 minutes of hard driving as "warm as laundry fresh from the dryer." That's by far the best description of the temperature coming from the top of the material and I personally have never felt them get too hot to touch, even after multiple 1/4 mile runs.

if its getting too hot, add more fuel to it and it will cool down LOL

mine doesnt hit 1600 at WOT but if i roll into it slow and only give it about 3/4 it will hit 1600 because it seems to burn the fuel a little better. i still need to tune mine some but good luck Nick, hope you get it figured out.

That's funny you said that TJ. When I tried a 2095 rack plug in my pump it did exactly that, that is it wouldn't get over 1400 and it smoked pretty much the same as your beast did! It ran like a turd though, guessing because the turbo just couldn't burn all the fuel and it was killing the flame. I think the 468 should be a bit more capable mauahahahahaha!!! Time will tell and I'm coming unglued at the thought of this charger, hoping it's going to work very well for me.

Levi, that's a great description of the warmth coming from the blankets ha!
