isn't this truck competing with sigma equipped 5.9's?

Yes he is, go's to show what cubic inch and air flow will do,,,,wonder how it would run with a 8cyl sig in the valley of that set up.....:what:

I didn't speak with Ben this year but I spoke with him at a pull in Wilmington, Oh at the end of 2006 he said that he was running an International injection pump.

I spoke for quite a while last night with Ben's partner in the operation.

Ben owns and drives the pulling truck, Tim owns and drives the hauler.

I'm working on them, trying to get them online!!!

I dunno if it's just how the pictures are, but it looks to me the big turbo looks smaller then the small turbo? or are they both the same sized housing and just different internals?

And there looks to be a clear pictures of atleast one of the pumps, and it only has 4 tubes.

I'm with you, I've stared at the pictures for quite a while and I'm convinced the "top" charger is much larger than the bottom.....which goes against my understanding of conventional compounded turbos.

SuperSonic says it's not, but will all due respect, the pictures don't lie.

Usually the bottom charger is 2x the top, roughly.

Agreed, but what does one gain by intentionally lowering the A/R of the compressor on the "bottom" charger?

???

would it be to help it spool so he doesn't have to sit and spool like some cummins pullers?

Anybody ever look at the charger setup on Keating's truck? Erik Stacey's? Kurt Haisley etc...

we talked to him for about 30min or so at scheid, super nice guy, im sure there is a lot more to it but he said it really wasnt all that hard to convert it over to mechanical injection. He said they had a machine shop make new cups for the head, and they pulled the HEUI injectors out and they are running DT466 IH injectors now from Scheid with a Scheid built V8 mack dump truck pump. The oil system on it still blows my mind. But it is pretty bad though. Again theres no telling what all else had to be addressed. He did say it had a lot more in it, said they were just trying to keep the heads down.

Tommy T from TFS Racing engines built the engine(s) for the truck, he was working on it for a very long time, Tommy builds big inch mountain motors for a buddy of mine that runs a modified 4x4 truck out of south central georgia and LOT of the trucks running the NTPA gas 4x4 circuit.........

they worked on that motor for at least 4 years before the truck ever came out. The chargers are the same size with diffrent wheels. One is a small and one is a big wheel charger.

Double Overtime is an awesome truck enjoy watching it cause im a full blooded Ford fan....... but seriously look at any mod truck and you will see the same charger set up... as for having more... every mod truck has more trust me if we all didnt step it up yr to yr wouldnt we still be thinking that an 800hp diesel is mind blowing? Soon 2,000 hp will be an everyday number for a mod truck on #2 its just the disease of pulling when you think its been taken to far you take it 2 steps further... Thats what i love about this sport!

so are you hinting that there will be several 2000hp diesels possibly as soon as next year?? are you talking crank or wheels?? cause BBD claims 1800 at the crank am i right??

well for one im not hinting that at all, im saying in the near future which could be anytime or now, who knows? and that is at the crank as we can not be dynoed to the wheels, and dyno numbers mean absolutely nothing to us mod guys someone can lay down 2500hp and not ever get in the top 3 its all about setup and getting it to the ground and holding together. look at bbd if he had or has close to 1800 dave radzerez beat him at vegas and that truck had around 1300hp so gos to show you its not all about the hp number!

yeah cause killing the tires out of the hole every time is only gonna work so much, eventually they got to learn how to drive the truck with the throttle......
