double overtime

AND the previous owner of BBD could drive the SH!T out of that truck

Travis

Come on guys.. there's very little "throttle" driving to these trucks, at least off the line. They take almost wide open to spool the turbos.

They can driven however. It's done with the clutch. Some of it is set up, some of it is how your left foot works.

Chris Watson did an excellent job. Most of the pullers I've seen in the mod class do a very good job of getting the truck "out of the hole" and moving down the track.

I think there is mreo to it than most people think. I know with the tractors there was. It maybe a different ball game but I got a feling there is a little bit more "driving" of the line than most people realize. Call me crazy though.

Actually as Cory said there is alot of throttle control needed, keep in mind these trucks are hand throttle with sigma pumps which are very touchy. What most people dont realize is that with the mod trucks there is very little room for error you dont just hammer down and let out the clutch.

Anybody ever look at the charger setup on Keating's truck? Erik Stacey's? Kurt Haisley etc...

Briefly on Stacey's truck but now I wish I would have paid more attention to detail!

Is the bottom = 2X the small just one design scheme? Guess it's not the only way.

If the top charger housing is made oversize, I guess it blows through more easily?

look at bbd if he had or has close to 1800 dave radzerez beat him at vegas and that truck had around 1300hp so gos to show you its not all about the hp number!

I agree its not all about the HP but would like to add some info to the comment above as its misleading as well.

Dave helped me alot at Vegas, I took first place on Saturday, he took first on Sunday, it was my third hook in the new truck. Like mentioned above getting used to a hand throttle, the pump, big water injection, the sound of big RPM's, and the patience to let the large charger lite before leaving the line were all part of my learning curve, around the sixth hook I started to get the hang of it. If you watch the Sunday Vegas video you will see I left the line way early and had to get out of it at half track because of steering issues.

I am sure we can find other exsamples to help drive your point but this one my not be valid.

BBD

BBD, I don't think Allcaughtup was trying to take anything away from you he was just using that as an example, everyone thinks that driving a mod truck is as easy as it looks and as you know it is not. I hope to see you at some of the midwest events next year!

BBD I didnt mean to be misleading or anything i have not seen the pull at vegas just what dave has told me about it, i know ur truck has more power then the purple one. and yes it takes time to learn how to drive one! I was just making a point the highest hp number doesnt always win! Im sorry if the comment offended you in anyway.

So Cory
Is the new truck going to be yellow and black

:pop:

Travis

yes???, when i talked to you last, you said all black with yellow trimmings......but that was back in the late summer after that ball sweatin ass Xenia pull, Urbana ended like 45 minutes before Xenia started that day but the sled broke.......when we all went to Darrens to watch them pull the R/C trucks with Darrell, Gavin and the rest of the guys that night.......

No offense taken:
I didn't think he was trying to take anything away either I was just putting facts out there and suggesting this is a bad exsample for those who don't know any better by just reading the boards as they might not have been at the event.

On the other I guess it could be a good exsample as no matter what Dave did win :)

Its all good :)
