dress up under the hood

Machines in our shop take care of the aluminum & stainless finishing... what wears out my fingers is forcing 50 or 60 hose ends onto fittings. :(
 
Great looking there BigB82789! Really like the look of yours. I've been wanting to clean up under my hood here lately and trying to get a few ideas. I was thinking of one of the 24v Cummins valve covers but I think I might turn my powder coater loose on my stock cover. He's does a GREAT job with all of our frames, wheels, etc on our race trucks and I might just turn him loose on this project. Just want to clean the whole engine compartment up a bit and make it look a lot cleaner.

Another question here that goes along with this topic... Has anyone here removed the insulation from the bottom side of their hood on a 2nd gen truck? Mine is starting to fall off and tear in a few places and I have been thinking of removing it and cleaning up the paint on the underside of the hood. Plus, I was doing an oil change in our 3rd gen 3500 at the shop today before we head out on the road for the weekend and noticed that it did not have the insulation under the hood. Any negatives with removing it on my 2nd gen truck?
 
Ok dumb question but what color do yall think would look good with a white truck? Im going to be painting a bunch of stuff under the hood next week and was wanting to know what yall thought?

Thanks! That my whole theme for my truck... no chrome or shiny stuff and keeping it simple LOL

P-Pumps and shiny turbo housings make anything look good. haha

i caught mine on fire, almost brunt the cpu and a few other things. kinda scary, didnt even notice it till the next day:doh:
 
not bad bud, but if you want to compete with the trueblood puller you gotta get some paint on that alt. braket lol
 
i did actually haha. after these pics were taken i painted it gloss black. Looks so much better. (hint: dont drink lots of beer if there is a can of "chrome" spray paint layin around in the shop) hahahaha
