Dt360 2008 f450

Carson Stauffer diesel makes the adapter to a Ford transmission, the adapter plates for the p pump and lots of go fast goodies. Give him a call, he's very knowledgeable on DT performance.

Have you played with the timing at all? I know that'll really wake them up, you can run them up to 30 degrees and they'll take it. Especially with the new injectors.

Why do you say "especially with the new injectors"?
Do the 466 injectors take longer to open?
Do they spray more downward than the 360 injectors, so fuel sprays more into bowl?

Coastal,

How is the noise / vibration situation?
Should I be looking into serious noise reduction matting and stuff, or is it "not bad"?

How would you compare it to a dodge cummins before common rail?

Does anyone know, with a mechanical cummins engine, how to tame the instrument cluster?

I get that the temp sensors can be bolted onto any engine for the gauges to work, but how do you turn off the "check engine" light?
Obviously with the original ford injection system disconnected, the ECM will be going crazy, what disables the warnings and powertrain fault lights?

Figuring with more fuel, timing changes might help it.

What I'm worried about, is that the 466 injectors for a larger bore, might have a lower angle than the 360 injectors.
At a lower angle, they would suit a larger bore, or maybe would run fine, but need to be retarded a bit for the 360.

I mean we don't want fuel spraying on the walls, or even the rim of the piston, thats what causes cracking and piston failure, isn't it?

I was going to learn that next...timing is still stock. ;)

I find it a fair bit louder than it was, I think 60% of the additional noise is from the manual tranny and vibrations coming through the shifter. The rest is from the louder old ass motor. I just drive with a window down and listen to the sweet sound of a DT straight pipe. lol

It's similar to a 12v dodge I suppose.

I pulled the fuse for the digital gauge panel, the one that has the fuel economy and all that stuff...it was having a conniption telling me there were all sorts of problems. I haven't gotten to the other gauges....although....like a boss I made the fuel gauge work.

:cheer:

Didn't realise there was a seperate fuse for that. So as long as you hook up an odometer of some type, and disable the digital screen, the rest of the guages should be fine then i guess.

Why wouldn't the fuel gauge work to begin with?

The REALLY weird thing... haha, the current MPG readout is pretty damn close to what my 12valve gets...

I'm going to do the black tape mod too:

Took the truck to BCC yesterday to get the Carli kit installed, along with some procomp lift springs on top of a Deaver mini pack.

The truck rides amazing on the street now...and its incredibly smooth on dirt. I just went for a quick trip around my back yard trails and it's really fun. Yay!

Not bad for a 1 ton!

I contacted Carson Stouffer,

I'm gonna get the adapter and stuff for a p7100 cummins pump, injection lines, and injectors.
Gotta find a p7100 pump though, a 215 hp one.
Could be around 600 hp with the right turbo.

Thats fine, because I'm sure TQ will be around 1500, so thats more than enough to destroy drivetrain parts driving like a knob.

I'm going to rebuild my dt360 when I get time off at Christmas.
Stock but with ceramic coated pistons.
