Duramax RPMS?

That sure is a different story from your first post in this thread. Doesnt matter to me either way what R's you run. I just think your ego, is hilarious

I apoligize for my statement i ment for it to say im the only one who knows what my 3.0 truck can run. My ego actually is not what you think, if you knew me and im guessing you dont you would know im willing to learn from anyone cause i dont know more than anyone else. Just trying to correct anyone who was gussing cause there not correct.

what was the white dmax with the blue flames running down the track? that thing was screaming. dont remember the name

Then I offer my apologies, the internet has a way of changing how things come across, I've only heard good things about you, was starting to wonder if what've heard was wrong. So again sorry, and thanks for clearing that up.

No big deal, there are alot of good tuners out there that can make them scream, so sorry if anyone took what i said the wrong way.

Tuning doesn't have crap to do with puling the wrist pins through the bottom of the piston.
We'll get to see what a DMax sounds like above 7,000 RPM soon.

well the way i see it is it depends on quite a few different things. first and foremost if someone has an lb7 or early lly (not the 06 lly) those motors cannot handle more than 4800-5000 for any long extended period of time. i myself tried this and ended up hurting a motor in the process. the ficm on those motors is not smart enough or fast enough to keep up so it screws the fueling up. the lbz and lmm however are totally different. the computer is much differnet and in turn much smarter and faster which keeps up. its all in set up and tuning of course but i would say MOST not all duramaxs are around the 3800-4000 range down the track. your built motor dmaxs are prolly 4200-4500 or maybe a little above depending on track and other setups. i myself have taken one to 5270 in an lb7...most of the time tho i stay around the 4200 mark

I happen to know a LB7 5250 whole season worth of pulling and now drag racing!!!

Troy Wakeman (sp?) is the white dmax with blue flames. Very hard running truck. Header designs have a lot to do with the sound of RPM a truck is running. after that first couple pops from the motor at about 100 ft it just came un glued and flew down the track. Not saying its what made the final order but keep in mind wheel base is a huge helper in the out come at this level of pulling when trucks can be stripped down.

Nice hook Troy.

7k rpm huh?
what tuning software are you going to use because EFiLive only goes to like 4800-5000rpm...:hehe:

He will not be using any software.:owned:
P-Pump conversion in a Tube framed Mod puller.

Just because the tables you see end at 5000 does not mean you can spin more. I have been past 5200 with my lowly LB7.

Chris, hurry up and get that thing out on the track. Can't wait to see what you have put together!

Troy's truck runs what I tell it to run for RPM and it's still running the third season on some of those no good LBZ stock pistons. While we could turn it up more there is a whole lot more to it than that. Troy and Josh do a damn good job of setting the truck up for the track conditions. The pops that were heard at SDX on the last run have turn out to be a cracked header and that's what cause it to take so long to lite the charger up, that's just the way it goes. Header will be fix and they will be back pulling at the next event.

As for how high the Duramax RPM can go it all depends on if were talking loaded or unloaded. The LB7/LLY units are stuck with some issues caused by the FICM/EDU that will limit the overall RPM. The 2006 and newer LLY/LBZ/LMM electronics do not have the issue so 6500 is doable for those.

I don't think Hondarider has any idea who Mr. Supersonic is.. If I was new, and observed the innocent looking flatbed in his avatar, I might make the mistake of busting on him too..
