equal length header or stainless manifold?

So u cant get a wastegate stand on a stainless manifold.......that's beat

And jake I'm not sure why you are so intent on seeing dyno numbers, a build like yours or mine is not going to matter if one makes 5hp more. I would sacrifice 5hp for great service anyday

All I know is I can dam near put the stainless diesel manifold inside my steed competition manifold, yeh its gonna flow more! Pure diesel did do the comparison. I dont recall the exact #'s but steed was out front by around 20hp IIRC.

They both look like quality products, dont think you could go wrong either way.

Yes I know, it's not which is better to me, it's about people saying one is junk and the other is gods gift to the diesel world. If your going to make claims then back them up. I want a polished stainless but at the price they want for them il prolly end up with a steed.

Thats the one thing that is leaning me toward the steed

You can always polish one your self then the cost is down but plan on a few days of polishing and some very sore hands to get it to look like the one you can order. Some guys have done this just takes time and patience, but I will say once you polish one by yourself the price increase to order one already polished look like a excellent deal and your hands and arms will thanks you.

Just curious, I already have a stainless... but are eqaul length headers over-rated? From what I've read it sounds like its not real deffinitive?

:what:

One problem I see with the steed with wastegate port is that it's directly under the factory coolant lines for the heater core, so can't even use a wastegate without modifying the lines. Good idea to have a port but poor placement.

^^^ lol

does stainless even have a wastegate option? and last time i checked ive never seen a stock heater core line on a pulling truck, or most 12 valves with an aftermarket turbo

Really , how many people are running Exturnal waste gates ? If your turbos are sized right your shouldn't have to . Unless your running NOS . E.D. has been using Gate Plates for years , why is so hard for people to figure out gate plumbling all of the sudden ?. A Wastegate port can be put in any manifold .

^^^^^ Why wouldnt you want to run a external gate on a twin setup with no enternal gate?

Ill shoot you a price monday, the stainless manifold is a great piece and deff answered the call when we were tired of dealing with a cracking 3piece.

What Monday were you referring to? LOL

Get a price on SS and a price on regular. Thanks!

my truck will still retain factory heater and all ac because i plan to still drive it some so yes i will keep the stock lines. but i could really careless about a wastegate anyway at this moment, but as stated you can run a gate with any manifold if you will just use your head. im just saying why place it where it interferes with other components.

Well I posted a bare metal Steed earlier in the thread. Only reason I had it blasted is because the black coating was starting to come off. Hopin that mine is the only blue one around currently. Love it or hate it I don't care cause I like blue and its my truck! Here is a pic

Jake, I had my Steed with a 38mm TiAl gate mounted on my truck and it cleared the coolant lines. They weren't run exactly in the same spot as they were with the old manifold, but since you lose your rear pedestal mount with it anyways it's not a big deal. I'd guess the rear of my coolant lines had to scoot over 1/4" to clear it. Same hardlines, same silicone hoses out of the core.

Less embarrassing pic of my IC...

Where else would you put it?
