Got my hamilton cam installed

haha, yeah a little slow their. Things are going good here. I should be back in san angelo in sept-oct i think for another class.

Hows the build on the duelly going. got any pics of the single tire on it.

Went to pick it up today from having the motor dropped in and we had a minor leak so we left it there and will pick it up tomorrow. Wheels should be ordered end of the week. We are both getting very excited about seeing it.

Sounds good Blue, you will get 500 hp someday.

Nitrous and larger injectors are next. :D

I was told also that the billet cams would eat into the cam journals unless they had cam bearings installed. Is this not the case?????

This is his drop in billet cam. He does have billet cams that do require new bearings but not this particular one.

Whats the difference in the billet then???? You must have a stock material cam made from a new piece rather than a improved material billet cam?????? Just wondering

Have to ask zach for specifics on that. All I know is there is a difference between his drop in billet and billet cam that requires new bearings and what not.

well thats good to know might need to find out then. Was thinking about getting block line bored for all the cam bearings but if this cam you speek of good then my not need to do it.

If your doing a build, I would have it line bored anyway for longevity!!
I had mine done and am using F1's Billet cam that requires the cam journel bearings....Since the block was out anyway..

Don't skimp...Have it done if it's coming out anyway....

my .02

I think the difference is that the drop in cams are cast billet and not true billet therefore not requiring the line bore for bearings.$.02

We use a cast billet to grind our cams on as opposed to a steel billet that typically doesn't work well with the block.

Zach

How is the bottom end using this cam? I would expect the increased duration to move the power band up a touch...

Tyler you did not tell me about upgrades?? LMAO. Cant break 500hp but a least I got your tranny shifting right. Now with a cam, hmmm lets get some Mach 6 or 7's in that thing.

Just get a p-pump on that thing. Did your girl get to Austin yet? Get home mid June hopefully. Going to hit up the dyno and let the 12v loose. Just got to figure out how to hook up on the dyno. Maybe fill bed with sand?? Might have to visit one of your job sites.

Cast billet hmmm how does it it hold to breaking I always twist the ends off this could be a cheaper fix do you have one for peak power around 5.5k or 5k need info

I figured that was you. LOL Tranny still won't lock when it's below 140* but oh well. The cam is doing great and the truck is running great. About to swap back to an SO pump and then o-ring the head and throw an external gate on it with a 150 shot. After riding in brian's p-pump and seeing the power he made and how well it drives the p-pumping thing has been on my mind but we'll see.

The girl moves in next thursday. We got a house in pflugerville. Be safe over there buddy and come back in one piece. We'll have to party hard when you get back.

579hp I believe. 180 p-pump, #10 plate full forward, 15.75* of timing, s300/s400 twins, stock cam, o-ring head, and some sort of JL injector. I'm 95% sure he wasn't spraying his water/meth. This is on an HO motor.

oh ok...come on Tyler...go big...you can get a bigger pump and turbo and make over 600hp with me...oh wait...i forgot who i was talking to. benched pump, s400, and cam should net you about 425hp

I'm thinking sigma, s400/sXXX twin setup, 1" lift cam, custom head, 400 shot of nitrous, and 1x.5 injectors. That oughta get me at 500hp. LOL We'll see about the p-pump. I hate doing it cause that's the easy way out (hopefully LOL) but it may be my only option since me and VP's don't seem to match.

if you think its hard to get a vp to run when it takes seconds to just change the tune...try tuning a p-pump to perform and still drive. no offense to him, but NickTF is having many problems getting his 12v o perform they way it should
