Got my hamilton cam installed

My position is that none of this makes sense. Even at the level I'm at. We do it because we love the sport, and the work.

I spent all day yesterday under the hood of my truck. I'm happier today for it. And I didn't have to pay a therapist, have a hangover, or get the herp.

you're a different person than I am...

I don't love working on these things. I love driving them. I work on them because I love driving them :D

I'm definately happier for the time I spend under the hood and under the truck, but I'd be even happier if I could spend that time driving

i dont like working on mind either but, you could never tell as much as i mess with it:bang. also i'd never pay someone to do a job i can do. i do feel better after working on it.

Well said BSmith. Half the reason I like working on it is the satisfaction of havng done it myself. And it's a good excuse to buy more tools:D

yeah, there's definately a satisfaction that comes with it... and I'm too cheap to pay someone to do stuff I can do :o

but I'd still rather be out cruising and playing around than stuffed under the hood cussing at it :p

i live in a apt. complex, and most of my wrenching is done in the parking lot.

i always have people come ask if my truck is broke cause im always messing with it. they probably think i got the biggest piece of junk:hehe: no telling what they thought when i was changing the diff fluid in the rain.

plus most mechanics i talk to aren't too bright.

I agree... I enjoy working on the truck if it means that I can drive it shortly thereafter. I hate having to fix it, I would rather upgrade it.

no doubt, i hate my truck when it breaks and love it when it runs. good ole love hate relationship.

Management hated me when I lived in my apartment:hehe:

They threatened me more than a few times:banned:

Yeah my condo ass hated my azz for sure:rules:
I had a 4500chev with a Dmaz that pulled a 26ft enclosed trailer for work:hehe: Then on top of that I pulled the engine in the parking lot with a few friends and plenty of beer. They were not happy:hehe::hehe:

wow, obviously!

Tyler, you're a kid... The reason I try to give kids financial advice on their toys is because I wish someone had given me financial advice on mine when I was a kid.

You really think that in the grand scheme of life, when you're on your death bed and have all of your family around you that the fact that you built a 700hp VP truck is going to be tops on your list of accomplishments? For your sake, I truly hope not...

To the rest of the world, a 700hp truck is a 700hp truck... pretty damn unimportant, but if you want a 700hp truck, I say go the cheapest route and leave some time/money for other facets of life.

how is P-pumping the truck going into debt?

look at jkt... I told him to p-pump that thing years ago... he could have spent a few grand and been done with it and been enjoying the truck all this time... how many pumps has he gone through? how many hours of labor and frustration has he gone through? Hey, if he ENJOYS spending tons of money and time burning money int he name of pride? by all means!!!

I'm just offering up an alternative. When I mention a p-pump to him, he laughs and says "nah, I'm gonna do it w/ a VP damnit!!!" w/ a smile on his face.

when I mention it to you, you start rattling on about pride and accomplishments... so perhaps my suggestion and reasoning struck a chord w/ you and you don't want to admit to yourself that it had a decent ring to it? ;) :p

I knew everything when I was your age too... Here's me hoping that one day you'll see where I'm coming from on this

LMFAO. Sounds like you still think you know everything (reminds me of a certain mod on another site). Whatever forrest. You obviously don't/can't understand why I'm doing what I'm doing no matter how many times I've tried to explain it to you so I'm gonna give up. As for giving me financial advice, don't. If I want that I'll go to my financial advisor, not someone who buys a truck, dumps a bunch of money in to it, and then turns around and sells it. Thats bad financial sense right there.
