hard start issues.....

The tester will just support the electronics on the pump free of the ECM, it will not test the pressures and the pump itself (if Jeff's tester is like the one we used on my truck). Just so you know. It will allow idle and high idle if it is like the one my buddy brought out to my place. Ended up buyin' a VP. :D

Thats the one.

It was funny. I was having idle problems and we hooked that thing up. The idle cleared up great first time. The then after a few times, it went back to chit. Dayum electronic bull crap. LOL

Im about ready to give up on this. I checked the return line on the back of the head. Its tight. I dont see any fuel around the T-fitting. If it was leaking wouldnt there be even a small drip of fuel? Im also starting to wonder if my lift pump may be going out. I noticed while driving yesterday the pressure would jump 4 or 5 psi every now and then.

Idle psi is 13. WOT is 11 psi. I was crusing down the interstate and the psi would jump to 15 maybe 16 psi.

I think you are screwed, dude. I never had starting issues, but my pressure did this when my VP crapped. I don't think this is a LP problem. I think the jumping problem is in the VP. $.02

I would never make such a huge step just by opinions on the board....take it off and get it tested would be my first step unless you just want to spend the money for the P-pumper. Post here are great for help, but none of us have seen the truck or know anything about it. I know of a shop to send your pump to... as do a hundred folks on here if you want info.

I was thinking about sending it back to Dynomite. Im going to call them and see if they will help me since the pump is new. Otherwise i am interested in the information you have.

I called Dynomite today about my VP. First off they said the injector size won't hurt the pump. They also said to check for codes. If there is no codes then its most likely not the pump.

Maybe this is there way of not dealing with it. I don't know. What's the key sequence to bring up codes?

Turn key on, off, on, off, back on and leave it on...but don't go to start.

I checked for codes. All I have is 1693,0382,0380. That would be from my grid heater delete.

I still think your VP is Phucked... Trust me on this. I had one pick up a hard start within 2 months of install.

I'm pretty sure MWFI told me when I bought mine, "if you install it and it doesn't fix it, you can send it back but we have to charge you for a complete test to make sure you didn't goof it up"...or something like that.

Anyway, it just means if you get one and it don't fix the problem, you can at least send it back and get most of your money back and not eat a grand.
