HTT 13ss Wastegate Cover

cant find those covers or gskts on the source web site

will call them tomorrow for pricing

Waste gate shaft bending, which didn't allow both pucks to seal.

Paul

paul was that in a stainless housing?

with the 1" pucks?

have not heard of that problem with the gates in the iron housings

do i have to be concerned with those too?????

And I'm just now finally getting around my spoolless htt ;-)

I have the new pucks, just the shaft I believe is still out of alignment. I talked to HTT about 3 weeks ago now and they were delayed to to backorder on the housings. I was going to swap mine instead of down time if I could.

I could hit 50+psi as a single, without trying much.

I figured since my gate shaft isn't aligned right, 1/2 the cylinders are getting vented.. well, one puck venting. I could "shoot" past 50 to about 58 and it would always fall back down.

I've been considering switching to an external gate. the CAC and exhaust should fit fine, just curious as to what will happen with my AFE filter, how's that going to handle moving down 1 inch or so.

if you make a flat cover with a lip it will hang down in the waste gate housing and you will lose travel

i was thinking the same but not flat

I guess I better give mine a look. Mine was surging with the stock tuning and seems lazy on the bottom. I never had it surge before. Probably loosing drive pressure from the pucks not sealing.

you will know when it bends

least i did

talk about a hot smokey mess...

then again i was loaded to 22.5k

empty it might be harder to tell

The lip would be the seal...so it would creat more room for the arm to open. I have ground a bunch off my arm to get it to open further anyways.

I have been pulling heavier than that and my egts seem a little higher than normal, but it might be from switching to the tnt which has less timing. The main problem is all the smoke. It even hazes on top. When I had my duel fuelers on it was better. Maybe its just a fueling issue, but I will give my turbo a look when I swap my motor and computer out for the early 04 I bought. I know I need a thicker plate. I talked to htt about most of these issues in 07, but they blamed my exhaust brake for the cover leak and not enough people were complaining about the wastegate problem yet.

Well, time to send the housing in!

Truck started to get really laggy... Cruise temps were up, and boost was down.

Here is what I found...

I didn't read all 7 pages here, but,..

Could you just back that plate up with another plate,.. kind of a laminating affect?

My 13ss housing is doing the same thing. I am just going to call Chris or Glenn @ E.D and get that plate before this Redding event hopefully.
