Industrial's Dragonfire Vp44 Feedback????

A friend got the DF, it was a dud right out of the box. Never ran from what I understand. II replaced it though.

I've got larger tubes but no lines, do you think its goin to make a big difference for me to change lines? Does your lope?

Tend to see that people who have these pumps don't wanna give feedback on them. I think they are scared to say they paid to much for a pump that a stock one can match. Just my 2 cents from previous threads on here.

That's a pretty bold thought. You have a link to the threads where you came to this conclusion? It's gotta be good reading.

I am close to making the decision to pick up one of these pumps. I have a friend here who ran one pulling this year and finished top 5 of every pull I think against big P-pumps and a mildly built CR. He runs a II SB66, Edge Drag Comp, and I think somewhere around a 6x16 injector. But I think stock lines maybe oversized tubes not sure.

Thats some pretty interesting talk. Mine will snuff a SO pump anyday more fuel without a doubt

I'm curious to see some dyno sheets? Maybe I'm underestimating the DF & Monster pumps, but here is my confusion. If you install a Monster pump, why do guys run the box on low timing & lower fuel settings? Seems to me that it is because these pumps have the timing built into the pump & they can't take anymore. Kinda sounds like the old Adrenaline tunes, Quad realized that more power could be made by cutting the fuel back. Seems to be the same with these pumps, once you get to a certain point, you actually hurt performance. Maybe I'm wrong? I have asked, but nobody has shown proof that these pumps can make power over 4k rpm. To me, they seem to be hit or miss?

That's what I'm saying no dyno sheets. Thread on here not to long ago people where askin bout the performance of the pumps and the whole thread was about injector size. I'm not gonna start a pissing match with anyone. Like I said its my 2 cents, never owned one nor will I. Haven't seen the proof that they are worth the money or better.

Injectors? Charger? Chip? just looking for feedback as to what works well

We run a DragBox & a Redline set low,6x18s & SB 66 and it runs really awsome.DF VP44 pushes out lots of fuel for us that it overspools our Turbo. We tried RedLine high but was not good for us,some trucks are different.Even our DragBox is set low & still got enought power to break Rear End like old news!! :st:

We have no problems to give feedback on the pump, nor that I am scared to say that I pay to much cause I don't think we did!!! Pump works awsome and would buy another one for another VP truck if we had a second VP truck to Race!!

have you made any quarter mile passes??

I was disappointed with mine and sold it. To me it was a waste, no dyno records are being broken with it, no track records are being set.

Exactly my point. Beginning of the pulling season, everyone was saying how great the Monster & DF pumps were. I expected to get my butt stomped by these big pumped trucks, but I didn't lose to one all year. A friend of mine put $6000 into a Monster pump/injector combo + had headwork & cam also lines installed. All of the work was done by Enterprise & when he left, they told him that he would put 50ft on any vp truck out there. We've pulled against each other twice this season. I beat him once by 7ft the last pull was 14ft.

what about all the threads i see where pullers say "it's all in the set-up, a 700hp truck will walk all over a 900hp truck that has a poor set-up"

i think the newer monster pumps have made their name in drag racing...low 11's on fuel only and single chargers is pretty impressive. something that definitely has not been done on stock vp's

...BTW not trying to defend any one pump, just thinking out-loud...

I had a chance to buy a new monster pump for $1600 when I bought the dragon fire, but bought the dragon for the warranty. I wish I would have went with the monster.

Has anyone had either one on a bench to see how much they flow?
