Injectors vs. 64/71/14

A friend might let me try some 7x18 injectors [Jon Link] for sled pulling. Think my 64/71/14 will keep the heat in check long enough to pull?
 
If he allows me to try them, I'm gonna run them. If I like them, I'm gonna sell my Smarty & buy a set.

Maybe.

7x.016 are 'rated' at 300 hp. They are gonna run hot but I'm sure you know that.

I know. My M5's have hit 1760* already pulling a heavy sled. I'm wondering if those injectors might cool me down a little?

Dont you worry about those cracking? I thought anymore than .012 is pushing it on a 7 hole?
 
The problem is when a cheap vendor has JL hog out used nozzles. If the nozzles were new blanks machined out to 7x.018, you shouldn't have problems.
 
Oh. I'm not 100% sure he is even gonna loan them to me yet. I wouldn't be street driving them much, just to/from the pull. My plan was to turn Smarty on half power for the road. Should I be concerned?
 
Jon said he no longer makes the 7x18's because people were having troubles with cracking. He recommends 6x16's now
 
I stand corrected if the man himself doesn't recommend 7x .018's

I still wouldn't run a 6x 0.0xx if it was made out of a used nozzle, i've read too many horror stories about used edm nozzles.
 
Yea it would get warm. But I never worry about it during a pull cuz it is only for alittle bit of time.. I could keep the egts controlled with the smarty on sw1 and nothing else... But when i am pulling i do not worry about any guages...

I do the same, but I always check the datalogger after each pull...just for ships & Kinns.
