It lives!!!!!

TJ..
What all did you end up doing to the pump after you got it from PDP?.

What turbo was on the truck to make the runs?

The pump came from CDS, it was a 97 215 pump that Brandon had built last year, I bought it from him. It has 5k gsk, full cuts, gutted AFC, whatever else CDS does to mod the pumps to flow 500cc.

Turbo is a S465 with .90AR housing.

If I can get the throttle to be less touchy its very drivable with the 6spd. The turbo is not as laggy as the HX55 I used to run. As soon as the weather turns nice again, I'll get some video of it driving down the road, its smoke free and still has plenty of power to get up and move from zero to highway speed, but if you wanna hammer down and race the guy next to you then its gonna get smokey. I drove it 4 out of 5 days last week. As long as its plugged in it starts easy, without the heater it takes about 30 seconds of cranking before it will run. Aside from my check engine light, everything works as normal.

Congrats on the numbers, it sounds smooth all the way up...

What timing were you running at for the dyno's? Who's injectors, DDP's?

I don't recall how much timing you are running, but have you checked the spray pattern to see if it's in the bowl? Just installed a new pump in mine and had a 6 deg discrepency between plunger lift and timing light. It took 30deg of plunger lift to get 24 deg with the light. I'm going to have it looked at with a bore scope before I do any more driving(haven't done any horseing around yet). I have never heard how much timing can be run with Mach 6's or 7's, 24 might work, but 30 could be too much. Just thought I'd throw that out there in case you haven't checked it.

Its set at 26* via plunger lift.
.084 lines, .093 tubes, DDP competition sticks with the high pop-off for the VP still. Some people said that the larger lines, and higher pop-off might retard the timing a tad because it takes a little longer to reach the pop-off, I dont know how true it is.

The timing is up there, at 38* air temp with no grids or block heater it almost drained the battery trying to start. I was told that 27* was about the liming for most vp style injectors before you are out of the bowl. If i could get a borescope i would check it, but it runs pretty good. as a matter of fact once its at 180-190 engine temp, there is no white smoke and the truck can be driven smoke free as long as you control your foot.

What mm of lift did you set it at?

I got one of these and there awsome to look down in the cylinders through the injector hole.

I just bought a generic one. Around 200 dollars. Not cool, but will work. I just want to be carefull and make sure I don't screw something up because i didn't check.

Have you driven it since you slid the plate? Prob not cuz it’s snowing. I think its going to be a little touchier with the smoke issue

TJ,

Nice job! Looks and sounds great. With a little tuning I am sure those numbers will just keep going up!

Thanks Doug, I have had so many people tell me not to do it and that it wasn't worth it but I have no regrets at all. The rpm and power difference was worth it, plus its just fun and gives me alot more options for future power increase.

Yes Yes Yes. You now have full control.:rockwoot:

Great graphs and a nice smooth rev in the video of you going to 4k in nuetral!!! You will love the S465, I have one myself and it is awesome!

Those are good numbers, makes me wonder what I am actually putting to the ground?? What are your EGT's at full song? I have just a thick haze at full song but can still get to 1600* if I get too far past 3200-3400rpm.

well slowly getting the truck looking a little better, still gotta paint the grill, clean it up, remove some other old stickers and put some new ones on i got from the folks who have helped me out.

here is how it looks with the new toolbox, tinted tail lights and add-a-leaf in the rear
