It lives!!!!!

Just wait til i get her hooked to a sled on video

TJ...
Glad to see its running.
With the most all the local rules to pull with out now I only wonder if this change now will make you have to travel more. Most all of the local associations have a rule for the injection pump having to be for the year truck being used.Did you get a ruling out of any of the local associations that allow the P-pumped 24v trucks to pull in modified street?.There is a guy here local who has been trying to get an answer from any of the associations on it as his truck is also p-pumped......Andy

Don't know, don't care, ill show up to hook and will do so til they start crying. Its only gonna get outlawed when the guys who's daddy runs the pulls starts getting beat all the time, so they change the rules to suit them.

There is nothing wrong with taking a 98-02 24v truck and putting a 12v in it...so i dont see why a p-pump 24v shouldnt be allowed.

took a drive tonight after rigging up a temp spring to simmer down the touchyness of the pedal...thought i had big trouble.

first it sounded like i had a fully automatic rifle going off behind my head, then i looked back and couldn't see **** for the white smoke...i can only imagine where my timing is right now...but i will know where it is set on sunday, and then its time to drive it and see how it acts for real. :D

That chit sucks I had one last nite slip back to 1.4mm of plunger lift, how ever many degrees that is. Needless to say it got towed back to the shop. And she did some nice back firing and mucho white smoke.

which one was that?

btw, will be ordering 2 spare pump nuts this week to weld together to make a tool for turning the pump over once the gear is pulled...i kept setting the lift, popping the gear and the pump would fall back 2.5mm of lift, i did it about 6 times before i decided to play the guessing game and started rotating the motor backwards a hair from whatever lift the pump was at and then checking it, finally after 5 tries like that we got it to the proper lift at TDC...what a pain in the rear.

I told u just put the nut tight enuff for the gear to turn, Just enuff with a ratchet...........
Brandon

thats what i did...like 10 times...and everytime i took the gear off the pump shaft would spin back

Im talkin like finger tight with a little butta after, it will be loose enuff when u pop the gear it will kinda fall off, their will be no pop at all.

A local high school kids 97, Is that pump suppose to have a cut cam in it? I know my 13mm didn't turn over very smooth or consistant with the cut cam. Where did 97'CTD have that pump pin timed at? You shouldof degreed your dampner and it would of made timing adjustments alot easier.

No idea, he told me to time it like normal

brandon, i did that, there wasn't much pop at all but when the gear came off...the shaft would jump back still. trust me, we tried everything

Did u loosen the DV holders it might sound stupid but it does make a difference.....

i took them all the way out LOL...still didnt work. oh well its set now at 26ish...it started fine this morning with no grid heater with the block heater plugged in. runs good where its at now...still a little jumpy but i'll get used to driving it again.

i gotta build a mitered 5" elbow for the intake so i can put a filter on it tho.

Its good to hear that it started this morning for you. It was a pain to get the pump timed. We definitely got lucky getting it timed the way we did.

19* this morning here, i had it plugged in and it fired up in under 10 seconds of cranking. let it run for about 15 minutes and drove it to work again. everything seems to run ok, i have a slight fuel leak, its seeping out somewhere back near #6 and runs down the block/bellhousing and leaves about a 3" puddle when i shut it off.

Sounds like a reasonable success TJ. Congrats man. Next time I'll get my big head out of your videos!

Fuel return manifold owns many, it certainly has owned me:p. I'd check there man first!

thing that pisses me off is i never touched the return except for sliding some 5/16" on the hard line and clamping it.

You talking about a 12v right? his is 24v

Yes Brett, i'm talking about the 12v fuel return manifold that runs from each injector into the single line back to the fuel cannister or whatever fuel supply system you have setup. Do the 24v's not use them when p-pumped? I guess not if some guys are using 24v injectors when p-pumped???
