Itpa 2.6 ****2010****

Drop the RPM limit. What the 12V guys gain in RPM they give up in torque on the bottom end.

People have suggested dropping the RPM limit or just going to unlimited RPM like the 2.8 guys. While others think that 4800 RPM is just right. Either way you look at it, there are gonna be unhappy people no matter which way we go.

RPM limit, whether it may be helpful in limiting the class or not, is not worth having in the rules because there is no good way to check it. It would be extremely easy to get around that if a recall system is the way it'll be checked and no one will just free-rev their high dollar engine to show it's max RPM like the low level tractors have to do that have an RPM limit.

Might as well not ever be in the rules. It'd be wasting time.

.....Looks like a good idea! Although, I think ITPA would say they want to stick to themselfs, but joining NADM is only going to help them!!!!

Thats fine, but I dont want to hear ANY whining, "Can you let me come to Indy, I live down the street...but made no effort to support NADM..so you should reward me."

I gave you guys the opportunity to qualify close to home, balls in your court.

Thats not quite fair in my opinion. I dont think the people in charge of that association choosing to stick to themselves is an accurate representation of everyone else. For example I for one would love to run down at indy, saying it right now, but my options are limited due to not a lot of events being around.

Gene, unfortunately when rules are made in ITPA they are locked in for 3 years, unless a vote is taken to change them. Last year was the first year for 2.6 class in ITPA, last year we also had a different class president. I know you and our last class presisdent talked about ITPA just using NADM rules, but that didn't happen. Not sure why, but it didn't. I would like nothing more for us to take NADM rules and be affiliated with you. Without putting the rules side by side and comparing, what are the "big" differences?

Jneal, it was good to go until your pres said we are going to use your rules EXCEPT, which is broken deal for us, it defeats the whole purpose, of unifying Diesel motor sports.
I think that is huge, for our sport, to have a set of rules Nationwide.

I never compared them side by side, but Ric had a different turbo spec rule and hitch rule.

How many hooks did you have last year? Any with 2000 or more spectators?

Off the top of my head I believe we had between 12-14 hooks last year. This year we will have more. Last year we didn't have as many hooks as other classes due to lack of sponsorship money and support. But we proved ourselves last year, so this year should be different. As for having 2000 or more spectators, uuuuuuuuuummmmmmmm NO.

I think it would be nice to work something out, but that is out of my hands unfortunately.

Gene do you know where you will have indy events for 2.6 and 2.8 in 2010

No less than 6 trucks I believe at every hook in 2.6 class. Many times more depending on location. The first few hooks was pretty much just the 6 usual trucks but by the end of the year we were gaining momentum and gaining trucks. I know it don't sound like much but it was good enough for them to let us run the class again next year.

The only thing we have lined up in Indiana so far, is the Invitational at the Jamboree.

6 trucks? I must have had 50 phone calls, were they 2.8 guys?

I will go to one of your events if its not too far away. To bad laporte didn't work out.

Dont you also have one in Gaston, IN? "Thunder in Muncie" at least under the NADM forum "top 2010 events"?

S&R Diesel Concepts Memorial Weekend Truck Pulls 5th Annual **NADM Affiliate Pull** May 29th 2010. Johnson County Fairgrounds - Franklin,Indiana

2.8 had around 25-30 members with at least 12 at every event with over 30 hooks. and packed stands at each pull

I forgot Muncie was in Indiana, lol. I think we'll qualify top three at Muncie.

Scott, Evidently you guys are on again, eh?
