I am trying to figure out which way to go here. I kno I will be keeping this 2.6 charger til after TS. After that I am not sure if I should step up and try a 2.8 charger and see if this thing can clear up and jump up in power, or if I should look into custom work for the S465.

Also tossing around the idea about building my own A/W intercooler set-up, which can be done for around $700-800 if I shop around.

I have a lot of fuel and it really doesnt run very hot because its so much fuel, but I want to see if I can really make it come to life by burning more of it.

So what do ya think? I will only be able to afford one option so which would be the best bang for the buck?

2.8 charger
2.6 with custom work
2.6 with A/W set-up

take fuel away and pick up a fair amount= free

2.8 charger with still too much fuel= you still in same boat

does the pump have a plate in it? if so why not try putting it back some? way, way too much fuel

What do your rules read? Are you limitied by inducer size? If not, then run a 2.8.

I lost peak power and power under the curve by sliding the plate back, with it all the way back it still never came close to clearing up.

very few pulls up my way run a 2.6 rule, most are just stock vs non-stock turbo for class breaks. i'll run a 2.8 after TS is over this year, but I dunno what kind of affordable 2.8's there are...i cant drop $2-3k on a custom 2.8 charger, im looking for something like the S465 where they can be had from other applications, without the diesel performance markup on them.

something like this is prolly what I am looking for

Compressor wheel - 71.08mm/100.07mm 95lbs/min
Turbine wheel - 83mm/74mm
Compressor inlet - 5" hose
Compressor outlet - 4.21 v band
Turbine Inlet - Divided T4 or Divided TV91 (T6)
Turbine Outlet - 4" v band

T4 Turbine Housing A/R options - .90, 1.00, 1.10, 1.25
TV Turbine Housing A/R options - .90, 1.00, 1.10, 1.25

Play with some different DV options, thats were your getting all the unburnt fuel from.

how much power increase do you think i can see with smaller DV's?

i'd like to add more air and use as much of the fuel I already have before cutting the fuel back.

I'd probably spring for a custom 2.6 charger if it were me but still don't think they could flow enough to burn all the fuel you have.

Maybe you could get a used, but good, custom 2.8 charger? Wasn't there a Scheid 2.8 charger in the classifieds recently?

You have the .63 a/r v-band compressor cover on yours don't you? Anyone have any thoughts on the .66 a/r hose clamp cover? Perhaps a cooler charge and less "beating the air" could be had with the larger cover. I don't think it would be significant though but could be wrong.

TJ, when you lost power with a fuel plate where was it in the pump? Did you ever run a 0 plate full forward?

I haven't had good results with a 2095 plug, my 887 pump, and the t66. It lost power and boost. Haven't gotten around to trying a 2095 with my current 468 but in my situation I don't think Weston liked the idea of one. I believe your pump had some barrel turning done when talking to Brandon about it so I don't know how well my 2095 plug results would match up to yours.

All just ideas man!

Also, check that drive pressure and see where you're at!

it has a 0 plate, it didnt lose power. it made 575 all the way back, and 631 part way forward. never went further forward because i dont need any more fuel, it gained some but i doubt it will gain much more so i left it.

i may have the situation under control already, we'll see how things go after i get back from TS.

I have a set of 191's if you wanna try them out let me know and I'll take a trip down there

now imagine making 631 or more with the plate farther forward and less injection duration :D
