More air with S465

How about this one?

Or is it too weak considering it is a S300? Seems to match your spec´s pretty good!

Can you run a 2.8 charger and bush it down to 2.6 when it needs?

BTW, do you know how much HP your DDP Comps can support in a P-Pumped 24V?

I don't know of any organizations that allow bushings in the 2.6 class... though most allow bushing a 3.0 down to a 2.8.

You should have looked a little harder, and you could have gotten some custom ones.

why spend $ on that 465?? just get a S480 with a contoured wheel to fit a custom 2.6 cover? I know there is gonna be one forsure at TS.

Custom contoured = clipped wheel = not allowed right. I thought for street class 2.6 rules say no clipped comp wheels. I know custom is the norm but was just wondering if the clipped rules were thrown out now. Tim

are clipped and contoured the same????????????? :hehe: I have held bolth in my hand and they look exactly the same other than the diameter and height . if I was handed just the 480 contoured wheel I would of never known it wasn't stock. so then prove it isn't a stock wheel. aren't the rules no stepped covers?

here ya go:

Turbocharger:
The vehicle is limited to a 2.6 inducer single turbocharger. The tips of the wheel must protrude into a 2.6 opening at least 1/8” the 2.6 bore has to be maintained for ¾”. The inlet will be measured using a 2.65 inch plug the plug must not be able to enter the inducer bore. A stock map width enhancement (MWE) groove is allowed. No MWE groove will be allowed that has a width greater than .200”. All provisions allowing air into the wheel other than via the bore and the MWE groove are prohibited.

looks like a contoured wheel is good to me

so clear this up for me .. what is the difference between a stepped wheel a clipped wheel and a contoured wheel. the wheels I was handed looked 100% like a factory wheel had the exact same contour as the 65mm wheel only wider at the base.

Stepped wheels are not allowed, big difference.

The rules say the wheel must extend into the 2.6 inducer bore. I don't see how a stepped rule doesn't fit into that description. Now a stepped cover that was just stepped in front of the wheel I could see not fitting, but it looks like a stepped wheel seems good to go.

Damn you didn't have to go and tell everybody. Uh just kidding, beside you don't know me or my truck. HAHAHAHA just kidding with you man. Too bad I don't think a CR would have enough rpm's to stay ontop of a S480. I don't even know if I'll have my charger done by TS.

Anyway is TS allowing duels in the 2.6 class on non oem dually trucks?

I seen a few run them last year on the video. Ron you still got the same phone number if so I need to give you a call when i get home in a month.

They were run last year, if the compressor cover was pulled, they would not be allowed to run. Stepped wheels are not the most efficient design ever made either.

I can't see how a stepped wheel would not be allowed. It meets the rules criteria. Not blaming you, just trying to see how it is really that much different than running a contoured wheel rulewise. I don't see the need to pull the cover to measure a stepped wheel inducer bore. The stepped wheels you can measure the inducer bore with the plug, then just verify that the wheel is inside the inducer bore. Seems if they ban stepped wheels they really need to get more strict on the turbo rules and pretty much lock people into a OEM compressor wheel.

So then why not just let us bush down to a 2.6. It would be a lot cheaper for most people. If guys wanted to spend the money, they could still get custom contours. Bushing are cheap. But they dont force people to spend money with certain companies. Im not bashing any company, just saying that as a buyer this openness deff. favors the turbo builders pockets when 2.6 bushed box stock chargers would be more equal in performance to the custom ones. Just my opinion, Tim
