I would take in your alternator to have it tested while you are waiting for your pcm if you are getting that high of A/C voltage on that circuit is sounds like you might have lost a diode in the alternator.Which could explain your computer taking a dump I would hate to see you burn up another pcm if this is the case.I have actually seen enough A/C interference from an alternator to cause the classic dodge lock up problems.Just a thought besides it will give you something to do while you are waiting for a pcm.

As for the funky voltage I'd guess nothing, never checked to see what the baseline voltage is.

No. I didn't see one. I had my smock on, my ESD wrist-strap, and opened it up on my ESD certified work desk and then did that. I should have just shuffleed my feet on shag carpet, opened it with a chainsaw and zapped every CMOS chip in the blasted thing.:bang

As far as the alternator, yes, that is a great idea. Test is free and another PCM is not. Thanks for the idea, tlse1.

Billy, I don't have anything that tells me what to expect on those wire but I'm guessing it has to be DC coming from the PCM. I just read DC and AC both. I originally thought it came from the alternator to the PCM and there aren't any diodes on those lines (so I assumed AC) but now realizing the PCM tells it when to charge, I see that it is an input to the alternator that is going all over the place. I did check the voltage at the batteries and it was charging 14.2 VDC. But it don't hurt to test for free!!!

I found a place in Houston or Dallas, can't remember, but they had no stock on dodge parts right now so they gave me a number in couckamunga ranch something or another California. I'm sure "new mexico" california would have had some had they answered the dang phone. How can you have a business and not answer the phone? They were off the list pretty fast.
 
Let me know how everything turns out, as I have a 02 truck that has similar problems. Except my cluster works fine but the tach does jump to 2k while in park and the motor shuts off.
 
http://www.dodgeecu.com/ can bench test the modules unlike the stupid dealers who have to have the truck. Send them your modules and for I think $85.00 they will test them. If they are bad, they'll send you a new one, if they are good, you are only out the setup charge instead of throwing a new module in and finding it is really wasn't that one. ECM's PCM's they do it all.
