Motor is FREAKIN' out! Truck dead. Please help!

Help is on the way!

Big thanks to Bob Wagner for hooking me up with an ECU. He also enlightened me on the code that took to on a bear hunt in the PCM. When I read the DTC's with my buddies auto part store bought reader I got a P0606 code. The generic manual that came in the box said "PCM Processor Failure". Bob showed me in the users manual to the smarty http://www.madselectronics.com/downloadfiles/Smarty03UserGuide.pdf (page 17) where it is actually a "ECU Hardware Failure" on a cummins.

He's sending me another ECU and I'll try it tomorrow night.

New (used) ECM from Bob fired up the first time and runs like a champ. It didn't fix my cold intake air bucking problem at 20 psi but I've had that for over a year now.

The ABS and brake light won't go out or clear with this code reader but maybe they'll go out eventually. Anyone know a trick?

Good to hear you'll have her back on the road. It sucks to be down on a vehicle for more than a few hours.

16 days to be exact. If I would have just researched the P0606 code more I would have had it done in three days. I screwed around waiting on my PCM for a freakin' week. I called Bob and had an ECM in 26 hours on my desk.

Thanks all, I'm glad it is runnin' too. I'm tired of seeing all these diesel trucks around town passing me in my wife's Sequoia! :D

find somone with a smarty and that will clear your abs codes . happy to help.

thank you

Good deal jory. Still interesting on your cold bucking problem. Guess you've eliminated the ECM and PCM from the equation. LOL

That is correct. $900.00 ensures it is not an either of those! :bang :hehe:

maybe if you prod around with that screwdriver some more you can find your problem!

That's it, YOU are buyin' BBQ! :kick:

I had my smock on, my ESD wrist-strap, and opened it up on my ESD certified work desk and then did that. I should have just shuffleed my feet on shag carpet, opened it with a chainsaw and zapped every CMOS chip in the blasted thing.
:hehe: I was havin a crummy day until I read that!!! I'm better now.:hehe: :hehe: Glad you got it figured out. This thread is definately one problem to put on my mental notes of s$%t that can go wrong with a Dodge.
