Motor is FREAKIN' out! Truck dead. Please help!

do they test it first to see if anything's wrong with it?

Sorry Forrest, I never addressed your question. If you send them a module you think is bad, they'll test it first. If bad, they fix it, reprogram it accroding to your VIN and milage, test it, then send it back. If it proves to be good, they send it back and you only have to pay a bench test fee of like $85.00. Better than replacing a good module for $299.00! Lifetime warranty on the part failing again if they repair it.

If you don't mind, can you tell me which number or who did you speak to? I just finish calling and they told me that they cannot diagnose your ecm. The price I got on another one is around 850:aiwebs_016: I'm interested in having my ecm bench tested.

Isn't Jory talking about his PCM vs you with your ECM. Might explain the price difference? If there isn't a price difference then Jory musta done a lot more than whisper sweet nothings...:hehe: :hehe:

Must be, I just noticed the vin # and mileage part which has nothing to do with the ECM.

Dude...P....C....M...!!!! I talked to Jeff Harrell at 800-685-1925 http://www.dodgeecu.com/ I think his extension is #106 if I remember right. Just ask for him. He was great and spoke fluent English which I appreciate when calling Florida.

Here are their terms and conditions:

• In the event that my unit is sent for R&R (Remanufacture & Return) Service and it is non-remanufacturable, I have the choice to change my unit to an outright unit shipped from AutoTech’s inventory and I will be provided options for paying the price difference between the outright unit and the R&R Service.

• If my unit is sent in for the R&R Service and it is non-remanufacturable, if I elect not to order the outright replacement unit to be shipped from AutoTech’s inventory, I understand a minimum $89.95 non-refundable fee will be assessed for diagnostic and testing fees, and return shipping back to me will not be covered. Ground Serviceis $14.95, 2nd Day Air is $29.95 and Next Day Air is $44.95

• In the event that I receive my unit back from AutoTech’s R&R Service and it either does not solve my pre-existing issue or if issues that may be related to the control module still remain, I can send my unit back under the warranty set forth by AutoTech Microsystems, LLC for additional diagnosis and examination. As this is an electrical/electronic part, I understand there are no refunds or credits that will be issued, but the unit will be examined under warranty and if areplacement unit is necessary, options will be provided to me.

Maybe they only test the ones the rebuild.....but they have to test them to know what parts to fix, no?

Anyway. Call Jeff. Maybe he can clear up any misconceptions I may have made.

You can email him at: jeffrey.harrell@worldautoparts.com

Tell him Jory sent you and that I need an expidite on my order!!!!!

They may also have easier access to dodges software for a stupid box that only controls A/C, volts, and a few other little things. Cummins may have a little better control of thier proprietery software for the ECMs. ??? Who knows.

I would be willing to bet they can test the ECM for a gasser all day long since it's a Dodge part. Cummins making the ECM for our engines likely screws the pooch on them doing anything to it.

Well. SOB. They called and can't do anything with my old one. They said it was hosed and can't be repaired (like I didn't know that). So they have to have the new (already rebuilt) PCM shipped to them from another warehouse which can't go out today (I just got my dang voice mail from two hours ago or it would have) and then they'll program it and test it and I'll get it some freakin' time next week like Wed or Thurs. GOD!!! My day has freakin' sucked balls since I left the house. I won't even go into my CRAPPY day but I do know my birthday is tomorrow and plans are to frame a house for a buddy without my truck or birthday steak. I need a butter knife to cut my wrist....unfortunatley I don't work at a restaraunt. :bang The only thing that cheers me up is my new avatar. Cute little turd ain't she? :D

JUST KIDDING

But anyways man, happy early birthday! :shake:

DANG IT MAN!!!!

What the heck does it take to get a little service around here? Needless to say I'm still waiting on my freaking PCM after 7 freakin' days. DHL sent me a shipment notice dated yesterday so I've been all excited to see it today. DHL came and went..nothing. I call them and they tell me that the shipper was filled out after they made their rounds yesterday and it wasn't picked up. So now I'll get it tomorrow just when I have to leave town for the weekend. I won't get to put it in 'til next Monday, two weeks after the dang thing broke down. And if that ain't the fix, then it is another week for something else. GOD. Can I get a break around here???? I need a punchin' bag in my office. :bang

Join the club, took me 4 weeks to get my ECM diagnosed, new one shipped from KC, find out new ECM is bad, get a second ECM then get it installed and everything is good again.....so until you hit another 2 weeks, quit cryin'.....LOL

PCM did not fix the problem.

Well, PCM is in and it runs like crapola still. Dead pedal and voltage codes from all engine sensors. So I'm now guessing ECM? Does anyone have one or know where I can get one cheap since I just dropped $400 on a PCM that my nosy jackass tore up with a screwdriver? I cleared the codes and then read them immediately before starting the engine and got voltage high and low codes even with the Juice box unplugged so I hope that rules the Edge part out.

Ideas? :bang

I know...check my grounds....:hehe: :hehe: :kick: :bang :bang

I wish Jhurst would just let me drive his truck!!! :shake: :hehe:

Jackwado at the cummins call center just told me to unplug my sensors one at a time and try it. He said one sensor could be causing all the rest to fail. I think he is smoking crack but I'll try anything. If the system is desiged such that one can take 'em all out the engineers who designed it should meet a firing squad. I'm also sure a bad sensor would not be causing a "PCM processor failure" even when the dang PCM is brand new. What a jackwad.
