My Twin Build Illustrated...

Sweet! I didnt realize Source Automotive sold all those supplies. Now I know what im going to do for my twins!

Source has everything you need. Its a little more expensive then just fabbing it yourself but we had the s400 mount and hot pipe so we basically did all the rest of the build in one weekend.

is that s476 custom? i dont see a 76 wheel listed, 75 and 78.

i must say im a little envious of that setup, especially with a cam. should spool really quick.

now that i ve got mine tuned a little better, they spool quick(17-1800. kinda hard to imagine yours.

chris or whoever else that knows, care to say what the differences would be in our setups? besides spool up time, i'd like to know hp, drive pressures, what they flow lbs/min, etc.

62/65/13ss over s476 vs 62/71/13ss over s475

thanks

the original plan was to fab EVERYTHING, but i was running out of time and bought the hotpipe and s400 mount...saved us a TON of time

direct any questions about the s476 to chris @ ED...that is what he recommended for what i am looking to get out of the truck. we have had quite a few conversations about this set-up, but my brain can only retain so much information - which he has a lot of when it comes to his chargers

Looking good Kyle, keep up the good work. :rockwoot: You are gunna love that setup when you get done with it!

:nopics:

Where did you buy the pipe, and flanges??? I'm gonna start next week collecting parts, Prolly from Sourceautomotive...

i bought all the pipe from Principle Truck Supply locally...they have 3"-5" elbows that they call "imperfection steel"...everything in those bins are $10per elbow

source auto: hotpipe, s400 flange (for cold pipe), s400 mount, turbo feeds, 1/2" spacer, silicone boot, afe filter, oil bung (drain to block)

engineered diesel: s476, s400 flange (welded to compressor cover), s300 wastegate controller

man i'm glad your build when better than mine ,,, everything mine came with had to be redone ... s400 brkt cold pipe ect ..... but geting close on mine to.... just need to do the tranny lines

Pretty sweet kyle. Can't wait to take a ride...west chester will surely love that hill billy hot rod running around town

Yea even if it is cheaper to make the whole kit yourself buying and putting parts together is way cheaper then a complete kit with turbos. I already priced it out and its over 1k cheaper to make it with buying the separate parts.

yes, it is needed.

yea its a 1/2" spacer

if you plan on using source automotive downpipe and s400 mount, you can not use an ATS manifold - the compressor cover will hit the thick casting (even with 1/2" spacer)...i used a stock manifold for mock up b/c i did not have mine handy

i believe mine is a BD or HTT (cant remember) but I was told they were the same casting and will work - same goes for PDI...worse case senario - grind the cover or manifold a little

Ah, so nice. Hey don't forget (if you didn't already) to go through the inside of the cold pipe to check for welder wire sticking through. The center weld on that is hard to get to, might have to find someone with little hands.
