Compressor wheel must protrude through housing at least 1/8 inch. All provisions allowing air to the wheel other than via the bore are prohibited. Map enhancement grooves allowed.
11. Wheelbase maximum 158”

16. Mechanical or electronic fuel injection permitted

Whats everyones thoughts, Good? Bad? Did they forget anything?

Should be a good class IL ITPA 3.0 has really grown over the last few years, i see this being the best class of pulling trucks there is in a few years.

hitch height?

So the hook point can be directly tied to the frame up around mid truck as long as the angle between a line drawn from the hook point to the pivot point and what (a horizontal line?) is less than 25 degrees?

I'm alittle confused by the 25 degree rule statement?

I am sure that they will use 26" just like the Super Stock trucks do. Yes both classes will let you use a "Drawbar Hitch". NTPA has some great hitch rules they will tell you how thick material and what material it needs to be depending on class.

Durr! GM doesn't have either coils or leafs on the front axle, but torsion bars!

Also the wording about the comp wheel "must protrude through the housing at least 1/8" is a bit odd.

Sweet! I've been holding off building another puller until my driver project is complete - but that doesn't mean I can't be aquiring parts! :D

6. Engine must remain in stock location.
7. Maximum engine size 460 cubic inches.
8. Engines may be changed to cross factory lines of manufacturing. (Cummins may be put in Chevy or Ford) No after market blocks or heads.
9. Maximum “P” series pump 3000 or 7100 series only (No aftermarket housing). with a 1 plunger per cylinder limit. (No Sigma pumps)
dual cp3?????
10. All vehicles are limited to a single turbocharger with an inducer bore in the compressor housing no larger than 3.0 inches measured at the smallest diameter area of the compressor wheel. Compressor wheel must protrude through housing at least 1/8 inch. All provisions allowing air to the wheel other than via the bore are prohibited. Map enhancement grooves allowed.
11. Wheelbase maximum 158”
CCLB push 170" wheel base.
12. Hitch hook point must not be less than 44” from the centerline of rear axle..
13. Hitch must not exceed a max of 25 degree angle from pivot point to hook point.explain this????
14. DOT street legal tires are only tires allowed. No altered, cut or recap tires. 35” tire maximum height.no 36x14 sts. why limting tire DIA in the first place???
15. Dual rear wheels are allowed.
16. Mechanical or electronic fuel injection permitted

Whats everyones thoughts, Good? Bad? Did they forget anything?

see bold and red statements.....

5. All front axles must have coil or leaf springs and must be in stock location. GM OEM torrsion bar setups not allowed????Well I could argue that a Torsion Bar is just a long coil.
9. Maximum “P” series pump 3000 or 7100 series only (No aftermarket housing). with a 1 plunger per cylinder limit. (No Sigma pumps)
dual cp3?????Doesn't say anything about CP3's or 3.4 for that matter.
11. Wheelbase maximum 158”
CCLB push 170" wheel base. This rule is very old and doesn't seem to want to go away not sure why.
13. Hitch must not exceed a max of 25 degree angle from pivot point to hook point.explain this????There allowing you to build and run a "Drawbar" Hitch like you will find on most trucks of this and the SS class
14. DOT street legal tires are only tires allowed. No altered, cut or recap tires. 35” tire maximum height.no 36x14 sts. why limting tire DIA in the first place???common rule in many organizations. I don't see how those 36" STS's have been allowed this far. Tire height is limited because as you increase height you increase contact patch and traction.

and I thought i was bicthn. Don't pull with them if you don't like the rules

i couldnt if i wanted too..
my truck is a 168" wheel base stock!
not to mention 4X2
and stock is torrsion bar IFS
P-pump are required... but i am allowed mechanical or electonic injection.... WTF?!?!? thats a morronic statment....:bang

cant pull a 7.3/6.0/6.4 common rail 5.9/6.7 under those rules either. :bang

Ease up there cowboy, he asked what everyone thought.

5. All front axles must have coil or leaf springs and must be in stock location. GM OEM torrsion bar setups not allowed????Well I could argue that a Torsion Bar is just a long coil.and the other side would argue its not a "coil spring" and a say final descression is with the tech......
9. Maximum “P” series pump 3000 or 7100 series only (No aftermarket housing). with a 1 plunger per cylinder limit. (No Sigma pumps)
dual cp3?????Doesn't say anything about CP3's or 3.4 for that matter. you missed the absolute word "ONLY" which excludes all others. unless you are agreeing with me

seen said sts in COTPC and NADM events... most dont run anything more then 35x1250 because they have a hard time spinnign them

460 cubic in limit??

Adam the P-Pump rule is limiting the mechanical pump guys. It is saying that they cant run the 12 cylinder pump or a sigma. There is no rule that you cant run a smaller pump like an "A Pump".

Does the wheel base rule suck? Yeah can't argue with that like I said its an old rule that should go away but seems stuck.

Jeremy I would say they didn't say OEM so Open it is.

I would bet the 460 limit came from a 7.3 with some room to bore it out.
