just sold my 04.5 and bought this cherry
of a truck. 92 d350 le club cab. bone
stock with 173k miles on it. all power and
everything works. a518 tranny and d70
rear with 4.10's. not sure what im gonna
do with it, maybe leave it stock for now.
a front end rebuild, new rear leafs and shocks
all the way around will be done in a week or
so. bought it in cali. flew out to san dimas
and drove this beotch back to texas. no
problems at all. i got it up to 80, but with
the 4.10's it didnt like it too much. minimal
to no blow by, engine has zero leaks, and the
auto shifts great. trying to read up on these
as much as possible. i did have an 89 non i/c
but i sold it a month after i bought it. this one
is going to stay in the fold for a good while.

That's one clean truck! Throw in a set of injectors, intake, exhaust and you should be close to 300rwhp. After that you'll need a turbo. You'll love the fuel economy too.

will the 1518 tranny take that without any upgrades ?
i know i had a ceramic clutch in my 04.5, and the tranny
in this bad boy doesnt feel like it would take much more
than the 160 hp its putting out hahahahahaha

on the fuel economy, will the 92 get much better than
my 3rd gen ?

for the trans from what i understand is that they'll take a good bit of power, but at the same time they dont really put any power to the ground on acount of there extremly loose torque converters. so i would suggest a good torque converter. and btw thats is one nice truck you got thier!

thanks guys ! looking forward to driving it for a while.
it mos def needs a front end rebuild. looking for a few
odds and ends such as a cargo lamp lens, interior light
lens, and a few pieces of the plastic trim inside that cab
that came on the le. i got lucky and found where they
sale the tailgate dually lights and fender lights, so im
good there. do these need a valve adjustment the same
as the 3rd gens, around 150k miles ?

and 1bad93 - love your truck man, one of the cleanest
1st gens i've seen.

yes orange, thanks for the correction.
the value you added to this post is
immeasurable. from what i see, most
of yours are :stab: :hehe:

was that on CL? I was looking at a clean truck just like that recently...

have NO need for it, obviously, but sure had a want! :D

it may have been on cl for california, not sure.
it was posted over on cf and on ebay...

i hear ya about wanting it. i sold my 04.5 quad
cab to get it .. i wanted it BaaaaaaaaaD

I'd be looking for a D80 to swap in place of the D70 if you can... the 70 will be fine, but I wouldn't spend any money on one.

yeah i dont have the fab skills or tools needed to
swap in a dana 80. i was reading on here that
you may have to do this and that to it. i'd rather
run the 70 till it blows up, for now.

and no drive shaft mods or anything like that needed ?
direct swap over ?

that may be doable.

rear shaft will probably be different  didn't consider that

the 70 will be fine if you're not constantly hauling heavy
