Nitrous install help

I have just been told by lots of guys running nitrous to put it before the intercooler. That way works pretty good for me so i'll leave it there until I put my second stage on which will go into the intake horn. I'm sure both ways will work just fine. Good luck to ya and start small before you throw that big jet in.

honestly, i think you are throwing a wrench in the CAC effect by putting it pre intercooler. think about CAC effect of an intercooler. nitrous after the ic is a 2nd intercooler. im by no means a CAC expert..but it makes sense to me. i think a test both ways would be awesome. egt temps and power. all i care about is the power gain, but info on temps and power would be cool to know.

Maybe I'll have to try it out and see what the difference is after this weekend. It would be interesting to see what the difference is.

:poke:Nitrous- as close to the intake valve as you can.... individual nozzles sprayin directly into the intake port.

Cuda-

want to do some testing for pre vs post intercooler?

I can do that.. need some dyno time, I'm not sure when the next event is around here.. I am near Charlotte in NC. Out in Monroe. I can tap both sides, and just swap the nozzle to both sides.
I could document some same tune pulls, and take in all info as far as tuning, EGT's, boost, individual cyl. temps (measured at exhaust ports externally) and most important.. Results! I'll see if I can rent the mobile dyno sometime soon for this.

sorta

thought that whats gave you a boner?

always being bigger n badder n knowing EVERYTHING about EVERYTHING

lol

you guys put your nozzles where ever you want. put em in the cab for all i care. but the idea is to put a cool intake charge into the motor, not to cool the hardware...

i think more than just you pointed out the obvious. and where you were too smart to actually help..you played peanut gallery then act like you knew all along. is there something worng with actually typing the info if you know it? as for duallie ... he's right. any kit your purchase TELLS you to put the nozzle(s) WITHIN 6" of the intake manifold.

.....then act like you knew all along.

thats funny. who knows, i mighta known a thing or two about nitrous before this thread was started

don

ps - take it you havent seen all the help i have received in my turbo thread?

Guys I appreciate the help as always.. I've got a lot more than I've given with CompD, that being said, Good for you DTank, everyone should be so fortunate. I bet you got some fine pointers for this kind of application. Unless stick it in the cab is your answer. (since only 20% of nitrous fills out there actually contain the Sulfur dioxide irritant.)

Don, can't you just go back to 1stgen.org and leave all these poor folks alone? :hehe:

i could...but i dont have a 1st gen anymore

i got a better suggestion - i wont post in any of the ve forums if you dont post in any of the forums for the real trucks

hows that sound?

Sorry, its not like me
but damn...

By the way ive run it in every way it can be ran, and IMO nitrous ran before the CAC is a waste of perfectly good nitrous. Ya you get a small gain, but you lose tons of its benifits, the closer to the Int. valve you can get it the better it will cool and the better it will perform for you.
