Please help me my motor is knocking

Put an air nozzle on them and blow them out. Some guys say to make them bigger to keep this from happening and some don't. If i had to do it over again i would have made mine bigger when i had it apart.

I think so but i don't think that you want to go much bigger cause you still want 2 have a good pressure to squirt the oil up in the piston. Lenny (ddp) is the one that told me about doing it, so you may want to give him a call and see what exactly he has to say about it.

I had said that too but the fact that it is only scored in a particular spot leads me to believe cracked piston skirt. We'll know soon enough. How do you check to see whether the oil ports are plugged or not?

His late 98 had plastic inserts that we just pushed out and blew out with an air hose.

Throw a few matches at it. That will solve the problem.

Make sure to put it in your neighbors(better wunderwood?) driveway prior to doing that though.

they're cheap, just order new ones from Snedge. I have a few extra if you need just 1.

I called MaMau today and the fella told me he would get back to me with some pricing and never called back ...... I guess I need to ask for snedge tomorrow. I'm gonna give them another shot

Better ask for Jeff. :hehe: Snedge is just a dude on the internet.

I didn't realize that Snedge = Jeff till I had talked to him twice on the phone....

Jeff your deals were the best by far ........ I think I'm gonna go the aftermarket route. I'll be in contact soon I just need to appropriate some funds. ha ha ah ha

How do I pull a cam?

First of all, find someone who has done it and ask them to help you. Second of all, use magnets or zip ties to hold the lifters up. Some people use wooden dowels through the pushrod holes, but that IMHO is not a good option. (Ask BgBlDodge about his recent fishing expedition in the oil pan.)
After that, I can't help you much because I've never pulled a cam out of a cummins. I don't know what else you have to take loose or anything.

If everyone could now on refer to the "squirters" as piston cooling nozzles (PCNs) that would be great, thanks LOL

Well could you tell me where the "squiters" LOL are cause I still haven't seen hide ner hair of them

Just givin you a hard time ha ha ha ha

They are the little things that when you pull the engine apart you're gonna think "WTF is this?"
