Please help me my motor is knocking

They are the little things that when you pull the engine apart you're gonna think "WTF is this?"

lmao that's exactly what I said when I rebuilt my engine last year. the piston cooling nozzles were like a bright green color. I was like "Whaaaaaaa??????":hehe:

The first time I pulled a Cummins apart I couldn't figure out for the life of me what the heck that was. I thought that something had broken and lodged there. The guys got a good chuckle at me for that.

lol yup it breaks the monotony when I do stuff like that.

It was a "PCN" pulled a piece of gasket out of number 6 new bearings and rings are in and springs are back on the head .............. want to crank it mon or tues

Actually the thrust bearing ended up not being the problem. Fished a piece of gasket out of a piston cooling nozzle.

First of all, find someone who has done it and ask them to help you. Second of all, use magnets or zip ties to hold the lifters up. Some people use wooden dowels through the pushrod holes, but that IMHO is not a good option. (Ask BgBlDodge about his recent fishing expedition in the oil pan.)
After that, I can't help you much because I've never pulled a cam out of a cummins. I don't know what else you have to take loose or anything.
That's why the miller tool kit comes with magnets......

Massive DERAIL! Let's get back to topic lol We've got a fat kid here with no ride...keep coming with the constructive comments lol

Just an update, he broke the cam retainer but should have a new one tomorrow. Hoping to have the motor cranked Thursday...
