Rule idea?

Oh, I was joking about hiding the bottle or a bypass. Anyone caught doing either should be banned for life from that class in that org. Neither method is gray area, and who wants to pull against cheaters?

I would suggest a tamper proof seal around the compressor side to prevent removal of the housing.

In some race orgs, faking seals is problem.

It also stops honest people from inspection and rebuilding.

And what purpose would banning stock turbochargers from entry level class serve? I can't think any benefits.

I'm glad to see that someone else noticed that little bit of absurdity! :hehe:

I mainly brush pull at county fairs but i did pull 2.6 at scheids ( and made it to the finals) But this year i wanted to try and make it to TS, Scheids and pull at some of the NADM pulls but you can not set up a truck to run at all three events so im just going to jump to 2.8 because that should be a good setup for all three.

you say there is no entry level class and there is no difference between 2.6 and 2.8 trucks. Why is w/s even a class if there isn't an entry level class. Why call the street stock 2.6 and justcall it street stock and if you can drive it twenty miles without any issues then that's all the rules there are. Why do we keep having this same conversation about an entry level guy coming into a class and competing with guys who have been pulling that class for years.why why why? leave the 2.6 alone and take your beatens like everybody else in any motorsport has done, pull your truck and get better every time you pull. Don't put more rules on, if anything take rules away and make it cheaper. as for the 2.6 trucks and the 2.8 trucks being so close you can't tell them apart, The top 2.8 truck would always kill the top 2.6 truck and the bottom 2.8 truck would annialate the bottom 2.6 truck for sure. Where is it so hard to tell the difference in these classes? just venting a little so sorry in advance

So you're saying that 2.6" should be just a restrictor class for true 2.8 trucks?

If you've been pulling in 2.6 for years, perhaps it's time to take it up to the more professional classes, especially if you're good. It's called sportsmanship. Or sandbagging, depending on the path you take.

where I am from there are no 2.8 pulls around, and if you want to talk about spending money then come and try to run in our unlimited single class. I do plan on moving up next year (2011) if at all possible but why is it that if you have a winning year after pulling since 02 in the 2.6 class that now I am sand bagging if I pull in it for another year? Isn't the name of the game WINNING!

One excuse for changing rules every year is that there are so many "advances" in diesel technology every year that there has to be changes. I agree... somewhat. Turbochargers have been around for a while to say the least. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'd say that the biggest breakthroughs in turbocharging have been discovered already. Why not leave the current turbo rule or figure out a new rule that can be agreed upon for the most part and lock the turbo rule down for say at least two years. Change anything else you want with pumps, intercoolers, etc, but leave the oldest, biggest debate in this sport alone for at least a two year period. And personally, I don't think there should be a limit on frame size. Just a thought.

I think what wes is saying would be leaving the turbo rule alone for atleast two years and that is great but why change something that is not broke. Let the new guys have a chance to figure out how to make their trucks work in a class that doesn't cost them an arm and a leg to be very competitive in so ultimately some day they will move up. Putting regulations on any one thing (TURBO,PUMP,CAM, ETC) WILL NOT HELP ANYONE!!!!!!!!!! JMO

The S300 frame was just an example. Id like to see a spec compressor wheel and housing, and have this locked in for couple maybe 3-4 years.

Oh and this is just food for thought! lol

I like the idea of a spec compressor wheel and housing. Say it did go to a 2.6 s300, 2.8 s400, what would you do for the other class 3.0 or unlimited single. You could prolly just get rid of the 2.8 class do something like below as there would be a good power difference between each class.

2.6 s300
3.0 s400
Unlimited single

Where the compressor wheels would be actually 2.6 and 3.0 not bushed chargers or coutoured to meet the current inducer protrusion rule.

If we do a spec charger, then we should just make it a borg warner off the shelf unit.
Then we can make it a spec fuel pump too.
Then we can make it a spec cam class too
Then we can make it a spec tire class too.
Then we can make it a spec steering wheel too
Then a spec seat cover class too

Go to a class that the wheel must protrude into the bore size and call it good.

The sad part is we are not talking about series here. It is two pulls for the year. I thought the 2.6 class last year was tuff, but was fun. I dont know why they screwed with the rules anyway. People *****ed last year because scheid allowed bushings but i thought it worked out great. Who decieded to fuk with them in the first place? We allready would have to spend money just to stay 2.6

Great idea Wes, the class needs a few limits. It has gone from mild to wild in a hurry. But i have said it before and i will say it again, no matter what rules you add or change, the same guy is still going to win, you will just make him spend more money!

Im not arguing your points rocky, but if someone has the money to pull in a bigger class or have been dominating that class fo a while they need to bump up, its called competition. there shouldnt be all these bad ass built 2.6 trucks sticking around when there motors are built to handle a 3.0 or the 3.2 twin classes? would you agree? I know in our leaugue cotpc ther eis no 2.8 which I think they shouldve incorparated this year thats where I would be pulling, but I dont have the money to keep a 3.0 or 3.2 truck going. I will prob have trouble at 2.6...lol, but I wouldve went 2.8 so I can still drag race the truck and make more power than 2.6 would allow me.

I say run what you wanna run and quite *****in. It shouldn't matter how much is money is dumped into your truck, if you wanna spend 40k and only make 200 bucks a win so be it. Take your beatens and move on.

I was really hoping that for the 2010 season all organizations would mandate that pullers are only allowed to use their hands to operate the vehicle. I think its a really good idea, especially for the 2.6 class :clap::clap::cheer:

wow Josh wonder who would win every pull if they used that rule :hehe:

And what's with all the spec bull this is diesel truck pullin not NASCAR.
