OK , Dual CP3's have proven themself and the twin turbo is still being debated. We have rods for the duramax's . So where is the Duramax modifications going next?? Head work? Where do you guys think the modification of the Duramax is going next?

DISCLAIMER: I'm no expert

You can build a 11-12 sec. very nice drivable street/strip truck for a reasonable amount of money.

Rods on the LB7 and LLY will be needed if amping it up more. We'll see on the LBZ. A couple LBZ's already very close to the 700 HP range on fuel.

There are a few guys running cams, modded heads, and injectors. These while runnnig good 11.5-12.0, not sure if the cost is worth it. Most are new set-ups still getting dialed in though.

A lot coming down the pipe this year.

More and more built engines is whats next. Fully ported and CNC'd heads, rods, cams, pistons, valve train upgraded, BIG turbo(s), big fuel systems, etc.

Its been rumored that there is more than one DMax floating around at 800+ on No. 2 only. One of which is in Ky. ;)

Thats kinda hard to believe, 700 yes but 800 unless its some one of a kind exotic parts.

Get some aftermarket rods, twin cp3s, a good turbo, EFI live & you have a easy ticket for 600hp. Should still be good for the street & good for the track on weekends.

Thing to watch this year will be injectors, espcially the more holes than stock(7 holes) injects. Good atomization from them & good tuning will the motor more powerful & effcient.

We might even see 1k from a Dmax this year if the pistons hold up :) (we might see some cool aftermarket slugs before too long though). Then we get to see if the tranny people are up to snuff trying to put it to the ground. My prediction: More broken parts this year then all others combined for the Dmax crowd but a lot of technology will be unleashed as well. In addition I think it will be the first year for a 9 sec. Dmax.

You guys have a habit of making trans guys lives miserable. I never get any rest.:what: :lolly:

Yeah but life would be mundane in the tranny world if there wasn't hotrodders to keep breaking stuff Mike. Keeping the cobbwebs off the old noodle is a good thing.

Making HUGE power is not the problem....keeping it together and putting it to the ground is......and it is a work in progress!

Yeap, still in fine tuning but I believe he will be very close if not over 800 when he gets it fine tuned. Lot of work in that motor from what I understand.

What in the world are you SMOKIN....diesel exhaust or the wacky weed or that thin air gettin to ya :kick:
 To the person that does that on #2:clap:

My first prediction came true. We have a 1000hp #2 only dmax. I guess I better get our race truck done so we can see the other.

on #2, what are you smoking?

McRat was 755 RWHP on fuel only with stock motor and stock injectors, with aftermarket injectors , he could've reached 800, it lasted 3 passes though.
