How many hooks have you guys gotten out of a SB 3600 12cb clutch? I had a guy tell me he has 36 hooks on one, just trying to see how that compares to others.

All depends on gear selection and how long you ride the left foot.
3rd low... will probably last a good amount of time.
4th low... with a 5 speed...1 season if everything goes right.

Just my opinion....I would go a little bigger in the clutch department
if you plan on pulling regularly.
Brent.

305 tires, 3.54 gears, 2nd hi @ 4k, I had 26 hooks on mine and probably still had a few more left, but there was not much left on the pucks at all. It also had a pilot bearing that had wore out the flywheel when I took the clutch out. I always rode out on the clutch, I'm not a dumper out of the hole. I feel like the clutch is a lot less expensive to replace once a year than any of the other hardparts that could break when coming off the line hard. After all the clutch is designed to be a wear item. I know that's how you get your momentum going, but that's not my cup of tea. Oh, well. To each their own.

I had a 3250 that lasted 3 hooks before switching to this 3600. I have 5 hooks on this 3600, but I kinda slipped it hard at the last pull. I'm just wondering how much damage I could have caused.

I use 2nd High, launch at 4k. I DD & tow with my truck, don't wanna go bigger.

I've had to ride my clutch a few times now to control bouncing. At Grantsville, I almost went 75ft before full release. I let it cool off afterwards, but I have noticed that it is a little harder to get into reverse. I haven't adjusted my pedal or anything, it is still set all of the way down.

i have about 15 to 20 hooks on mine with 35 in tires and it depents on the way the track is dry or wet if i take 3 ed or 4 th gear some time i dump the clutch or ride it out still happy with my clutch

I've gone 40+ and as few as 15. Slipping will seriously shorten the life span. Fix the bounce, don't slip it. SB will tell you, you should be fully released in one revolution of the tire.

why not go bigger i honestly cant tell the difference between a 3600, 3850, and 4200 and i have dd all of them i run a 3850 on mine

This last year at Scheid, I had to ride it for about 60-75 foot to get past the rough stuff we were taking off in for the finals. They moved the track from qualifying to the finals and I didn't like where they put us for the finals. Caused me a few spots b/c I wasn't already out and running, I feel.

I hate the 3850 compared to the 3600 for driving. I've heard a lot of people say there's no difference. I can tell, night and day. It still shifts fine, but no where near as fast.

i dd mine 4200 no big deal and had over 75 hooks before stop counting i off within one tire revolution always agree with mech100%

drive like your should and your gonna last a long time heat is a killer , or drive like House LOL and your gonna kill every brand clutch made.

iv got a 3850 and i love it it daily drives good and pulls good but i dont ride it i leave the line in 4th low and i dump it at 35 lbs of boost but i get everything tight be for i dump it.. slipping it just wears it out

I started building my weight rack this evening. I'm hoping it cures my boucing problem. I usually drop the clutch fast, but had to ride it twice now & I can feel a difference in the shifts already.

my truck dont hop but iv got a weight rack. ladder bars helped me more then anything i think with them and my stiff knees in she hooks and goes

S B is full of poo if they think you can dump a clutch hard with a big charger, I have heard them say 3 seconds still not going to work in the bigger classes. Even the 2.6 class is crazy competitive and guys are trying to run big gears.

i got 3850 and got 7hooks to the sled in 5th low with 33s and about 15 take offs in 4th,5th,6th gear launches in 2hi then it was toasted i had it rebuilt for $200 and this is what it looked like when i got it back after my clutch guy had it for a hour
