Pretty sure thats a lift pump on the back. Iv'e seen that style cp3 on low hp marinized versions. Not to be confused with the giant cp3's they use on the high hp marine engines.

Hope you didn't pay to much... you know Floor It is making one that fits with out moving all that BS. Killer price too!

I hear that is one bad mother to!!! Heard the more pressure you put to it the better it runs!! But to the previous stuff. I didnt see how any of Johns comments were offensive. Simply stating a weak point of the system. Not that it would or wouldnt fail. Or it will or wont flow crap loads of fuel. $.02

It just reads like another vendor is trying to bring up some FUD to me.

Maybe I woke up on the wrong side of the little box my self.

Lift pump or not. Lets hear it from the original vendor, or something shoot some specs out already!. :)

John, I do agree with you, we need a freaking shoot out already, and you and Shane are the only vendors around here willing to do so, that's a damn shame if you ask me. Maybe we can get this new guy to the game and have a 3 way battle already.

Lmills, I do nothing but ask questions and read.

Sad part is the fuel is metered, by a few components

Correct. It's a direct mounted supply pump.
The Bosch number on the pump is 0445020039.
The Cummins number is 4941064.
I don't know what mods are done to the pump or anything by the vendor. It does seem to me that the CP3 driven supply pump could be subject to ouchness.

I like the idea of a gear supply pump, thats why I'm running a mitusa.....but using it as a single and moving the ecm.....can't say that sounds peachy.
I hope that lift pump isn't the only thing classing it as a stage 4........

So, if these things are direct from bosch/Cummins, unless it's modded to be over driven, why is it a "bad" deal?

It is not Bosch, 0 445 020 039 Is the Bosch part number for the standard 03-07 CP3 on a Dodge/Cummins application. Just like everyone already has. The pump on the back is just like the one I posted a picture of, $59.99 at Northern Tool.

The factory installed supply pump on the CP3 will deliver well over 150 psi, the pump is not the problem, the life of the shaft that drives it is.

Because I assumed it is modded to be overdriven.
I mean.... If your just taking a stock one out of a Cummins or Bosch box I don't think there would be a problem. The pump is designed to operated under 2800 RPM.
So if you aren't looking to run High RPM or excessive fuel pressure, why replace the stocker at all????

I am clueless to the mods done to this pump by this company, and am not trying to knock it in any way.

Shows what I know:hehe:

Shane, is that second picture of a shaft twisted from using a direct mounted pump like that ?

It seems to, for it to draw all the way from the back of the truck, through the filter and without over sized lines... it would be a hell of a strain on that pump

That is from the little factory installed supply pump. See what I mean, if the little supply pump can break one, imagine what a big mofo can do...the same only faster.

Reiff Diesel...... Appears they are located close to me and I have never even heard of them. I do agree with John though, what matter is LPH.

Doug

Doug,
Lee Reiff himself was at Fall Brawl last year. I know you were out of town, but he was there. Ask Lloyd or Wayne Wildbore, I'm sure they remember him.
Maybe he'll show up for Spring Fling and we can all get a better look at this latest innovation.

The ONLY! thing that matters is the LPH, besides reliability.

John

John the funny thing about that is, when another fella(Sean Liberator) and I questioned him about the LPH on a stock pump and this Stage 4 pump his answer was and I QUOTE...... "I dont know, whats that matter".
We then asked him what the cost is gonna be and he said "Im gonna try and keep the price under $3,000"!!!!!!!!!

Does it matter if it supports decent HP??....Really? Trust me he knows what it flows.

I can see what you mean...he just is not the kind of person to walk around handing out information and I've seen him act ignorant when others try cutting up his product...sometimes you just need to listen when the boy talks and you will get a lot farther...at least that's what I've found works best

dragnsled do you drive a light blue Megacab??

No I don't but now I think I know who you are.

Wow! he can't know very much about CP3 pumps if he doesen't know what they flow. $3000.00:hehe:

Is it possible for any discussion with him to go any other way? I don't see how someone could get a word in edgewise. That boy loves to tell you how awesome he is..:hehe: Not everyone was cursed with the gift of self awareness....

Dude, I seriously hope the pump works out for you, and does everything Lee told you it would. It's not a knock at you at all. I wish you nothing but the best, but ol' Lee is quite a character.:Cheer:
