Super B Special...first impression

I got to tow today. .......max egts were 1276* & 55psi boost.

I am very happy with this setup

my brother is very disappointed that I will be keeping this charger.

i dont know if you got hills back there like we do here but i would be very happy with those numbers regardless

why did it take me so long to pull my head out of my azz? (i towed for many years with a gasser)

diesel is almost like nitro - maybe even more addicting!

Nice......Love it!

I pulled 19K with mine last weekend............had to stay in direct and most of the land down here is flat with occasional slopes plus over-passes.......never saw more than 1100 on mine and I'm on 3.55's with 35's......
 
Well dang. I can hit 1500 pretty easy with my 150s, drag comp and no load. When I get the truck back from Jeff's I'll do some testing.

Also I'm not seeing anything over 48psi or alteast I don't remember seeing anything higher than that.

The hills I pulled today definately weren't the biggest hills in my area. I'd say, from a dead stop, 5-6% grade about 3/4 mile long was one. I topped the hill doing 68mph & there was more left in it, but a slow driver slowed me down.

My brother has a 62/71/13ss, he wants to trade someone for a 64/71/13ss. Its for a 3rd gen.

I'd also like to say that I am running a 3rd gen 14cm exhaust housing on mine to accomodate the 3rd gen exhaust brake. Not sure if this makes a difference, but letting you know.
 
I got to sled pull with this turbo for the first time last night [Friday]. I ran 2nd gear high range & had no problem at all building boost at the line. I checked the datalogger when the pull was over.

Max rpm 4116
Max speed 26mph
Max egt 1706*

I don't have a video of the pull, but a fellow member did video the pull. If he sends it to me, I'll post a link.
 
what was your max boost?

and what are you guys usin? v-300?

300 dash?

Good to hear man you need get a vid up of the truck in action. LOL

I got a vid from the pull in Cumberland today. I tried to blow the tires off launching & started to bounce really hard, had to back completely out of it. Watch how fast the charger comes back to life! I also got readings from the pulse after the pull.

Max rpm 4224

Didn't pay attention. I was gonna restart, but I couldn't see the 75ft sign & thought I might have passed it. I just jumped back in it & she was gone!

Thanks Dave. I may have just got lucky to be honest. I beat the 2nd place guy by 9ft, but the 2 other trucks that I thought would do well broke.:hehe: If they wouldn't have broke, I may have lost that pull after backing out of the fuel like I did.:hehe:
