The Garmon built "Interceptor" build status!

would appear that no real break in method was used..run it as you would. 60psi no retorque on a freshy makes me nervous

That's what I did....12,000+ miles later there have been zero issues.
It sees 60+ psi every single time I drive it.

BTW, did you (or anyone who had done a build) see any signifficant gain in HP after several miles of break-in time......I've always heard engines get fast / more hp after they get fully broken in......

Anybody notice a gain after a complete break-in????

I remember with the Cummins 600's came out......folks were just crying about the milage....well when about 20,000 started ticking over on the odometer.....mileage numbers started comming up some....SO.....i would make a bet that power numbers would be the same to some extent......

Engines always run their best when they're about to blow up. So go get it to the point that its about to go then throw it on the dyno for the best #'s.......

Had a blast last nite dude..The new motor looks sweet..Can't wait until you take me for a ride in it..:rockwoot:

My buddy is a diesel mechanic for a living. He's the owner of that light almond short bed dually that was in Diesel tech about 2 months ago. Anyhow, as far as mileage not being very good on a new CR... He told me that the ecm is in like a "safety mode" for the first 16,000 miles. Then after that the engine runs like it should. He read it in a Cummins or dodge manual somewhere. That's the main reason new CR trucks don't get very good fuel mileage untill their in their 20,000's of miles. B/c that's when owner start to notice the mileage increase. Not to mention the obvious reasons of the engine physically being broken in.

Big Swole, your truck obviously won't go through this as much b/c your ecm doesn't know you have a new engine. Good write up. We appreciate it and good luck with your truck and that tick.

Well i finally got to go for a ride in the ole truck today. That thing is pretty dang fast to be a 4 door truck. It goes from 60 to 110 mph in a blink of an eye. Can't wait to see it go down the track. Great job swole by the way:rockwoot:

Of course it did this on a closed course, because he wouldn't do something like that on an open course. LOL

swole you need to post a new pic with your new pretty blue valve cover!!!!:shake:

DUUUDE! CONGRATS! Very cool news. I was watching your build.

Your rattle is no different than mine and I'm running 4.5 Flux's or so. I'm very certain its the lowered compression! Only happens at low boost like you mentioned with the freshly rebuilt fletcher motor.

Furthermore, here is the map of the s480 with racecover. seems you will be in its effeciency range of 40-46 or so. your call, but this turbo appears to have balls. let me know if you need anything.

Thanks man!!!! Hope yours is running well too!!!!
I do think the lower compression agrivates it at least!!! May not be the Total cause but has something to do with it!!

As for the S480, I'm not sure how I'll see 40-46 psi out of it....Haven't played with the gate much but I've got it set close to where most say it should be....

I only see about 65-66 total boost out of my setup.....That's about right isn't it...Esp. since I'm running a F1 cam....????
