The Garmon built "Interceptor" build status!

Good deal Man Glad to see all in all everything is good to go. As soon as you get you gauges in it will be cake tuning the twins. Also I got a few dyno tricks for ya!!!!!

Looks real nice. Lot of work , but so worth it to do it yourself and know every bolt is tight and nothing is cross threaded or missing. Takes a little getting used to when you change the set up and you get all the weird little noises.

Id be watching the PSI without studs though. Do you plan on a coolant bypass or freeze plug block off?

Is the rest of your drive train up to the challenge of handling 800 HP?

How much boost from the bottom turbo? Ya need like 32-35, IMO. That seems to dyno and run good with those twins.

Thanks man!!! It was Fun and nurve racking at the same time...Learning and Waiting!!! Since it was my first time and away from my truck that long, I got a little too ancy, but it's worth it now....

So far so good on the stock head bolts with THE Jeff Garmon's magical touch!!!! I've beat on this thing pretty good so far!! Breaking it in Hard like most said too!!!
I haven't done any boosted launch's or anything but Many Many hard roll on's!!!

Down shifting to 3rd from 4th at WOT with a manual Lock on my TC results in a sheet of ICE under my back tires!!!!!!! LOL :rockwoot: :evil

Not sure about the bypass kit....I asked Jeff about it and he really didn't think much of it!!! I guess we'll see!!

Tranny!!!! OH YEAH, It Full Billet with ALL the Jeff Garmon goodies!!!
It will so be an Opie FAT SHAFT billet!!!

Not sure yet on the bottom..Gotta get another guage when I get my RP guage.....Will do the tuning soon as I can....

It does seem to run really good Don!!! Thank you again!!!! Please tell April again that I said , "Thank you for all the help"!!!

I'm already thinking of going bigger on the injectors based on you comment earlier and for wanting a little more power (obviously :evil ).....What size do you think I can get away with??????

Glad to see you guys that thing back up and running, and making some huge power right out of the gate. Thanks Steve B.

lol
I'm looking forward to it Don!! Thank you for your help and guidance!!! I'll keep you posted when we get it broke in and on the dyno.....

how did garmon tel you to break in the engine, and for how much time?

BTW that pistons looks exactly like the #6 in the 06 CR in my sig. we hear it missing during spool up, anyway raced the 1/4 mile and at the end it ran like crap. did a 12.2, just before it did under 12 secs.

is that an injector sticking open? we didnt check the injectors after rebuild, im affraid we should have...

I wouldn't worry too much about the rattle. My truck rattles exactly like Triton's truck does. I have had the head off three times, sent the injectors back to be tested, among other things, and all looks well. I know Ty has been looking for the culprit for a long time and hasn't found anything yet. I just think it's the nature of the beast. Now, GO ENJOY YOUR BEAST! :rockwoot:

would appear that no real break in method was used..run it as you would. 60psi no retorque on a freshy makes me nervous

I did the 15-18 min.@ 1800-2000 rpm's F1 Billet H2 cam break-in...shut it down for a while why we fixed the fuel, oil, exhauxt leaks....Then took it for a drive...10-15 of mild roll on's with progressive boost increases....shut it down again for a while....Drove it one more time for 10-15 mins why progressively up the boost again, hitting high fifty's a few times.........Then shut it down for the night and left it at Jeff shop....

Next day, we warmed it up with some idle, revs, and then a short drive...Then stuck it on the down....750 right off the bat, 766 was the highest...

Jeff was checking it out and said it had Absoluetly NO blow by what so ever....Having my Head Torque Plated at 150 ft. lbs. then honed has got my block staight as an arrow!!!!!

Jeff's pretty much a run hard kinda break-in guy!!

Heck, the "Engine Break-In" thread a while back said to strap it to the heaviest trailer you can find for the best break-in........I think what I did was not the bad!!!

Any oppossing thoughts??? Please share!!! I'm learning too and willing to listen to any and everything!!! But trusting Jeff Garmon at the moment!!! So far So Good!!!:rockwoot:

I totally understand your reservations on my / Jeff's madness!!! I'm mainly just doing as instructed......BUT, Every high HP engine build Jeff and Darren do is with stock head bolts (unless the owner request otherwise) using his famous torque method....No failures to speak of.....

I have to say that that's a pretty good track record!!!

Still learning as I go here!!! I'm still WAY green compared to most all you fine folk!!!! Iwith a few exceptions...lol )
:Cheer:
