Truck Pull May 16th Ceres, CA

I'd have to agree with jp on that comment but they were trying to make me pull extreme do to lots of smoke on a previous pull!

Those guys dont know where to draw the line cuz they dont know what to look for. They think they do but they dont.

Tell them smoke doesn't equal power and their is nothing in the rules about smoke.

You should make a smokeless tune just to prove a point.

That is true infact I told him some of the valley rules about wieght bars and turbos Ect. and I think I ended up screwin the guy with the white lbz. But my turbo is so shot that's the only reason I'm blowing so much smoke! Hopefully hilmar pull will be on the ball as far as rules

Your truck is a solid puller!

The only thing keeping me out of the extreme class is all the safety rules. Technically I fit into the street class. (single turbo, no drugs) but I'd rather pull against the big boys and get 2nd or 3rd than pull in the street class with trucks with a tuner and exhaust system.

I know it was becasue he had a weight rack. (if you dont think weights help look how close that stock dmax got to the blue dodges distance). Ive only ever heard of the weight rack being an issue this time. I pulled at a L&L pull before as well as MLM before with a weight rack and never got thrown into extreme class. For pulling you want a wieght rack stock or not it helps out a lot. Seat Time? I'm pretty sure theres not much to driving a street mod. diesel truck down the pull track.

Never said weights do not help! How much it helps with the stock diff., who knows! Seat time= trying to figure out what your truck likes/dislikes. When your new to the sport, there is more to learn then get in and push a petal!

I would say wieghts help but not as much as to compare that dmax to that dodge because that dodge did not have a solid run I think it was more of a test and tune run for him. And does anyone know if they even change the gearing on the sled for extreme becuase I pulled further in extreme last time then super mod just wondering I know they don't add wieght for a fact

I usually go up right before I pull and ask them if it's the same gearing as last pull, last set of trucks, etc.

I run a manual, so I have to try to grab the right gear. Anyway, I'm not sure if they keep track of it or not.

I've seen you pull right around 200, and then come back and pull close to 230. 20 minutes later. Wierd.

Hey anthony here is a nice pics.

oh wow! gaining experience in any kind of sport gives a huge advantage to yourself. whether it is seat time in a truck pull, playing more pickup games in basketball or getting as much pre-fishing before a bass tournament. in the end it will always give you an advantage. now this does not give you an automatic win but it sure does help.

btw, not a bad pull lb7. do u even have a turbo under the hood?

Real funny! I'll be making good friends with it here soon, when I try to pull it out

Tires

I'd think you'd want something more agressive. How much are you weighing in at?

I have been watching the Diesel's pull for a long time. I have always wondered what a set of 50% boggers would do in the front only. If any one wants to try a set I have a spare set on 8x6.5 Just let me know in advance and I will bring them to one of the Ceres events.

Smoke

I don't think that smoke is an issue in the street or obviously the Extreme class. It is Lots of smoke in the stock class that has us concerned.

No Question about it, the diesels are the hardest to tech. Mostly we have to rely on your word as to what class you belong in. However, we do try to run all 3 classes for you guys...try going to one of Shipmans pulls (turlock) and see what happens.

Thanks for your support!

I think you guys are doing a great job overall. No matter what, people will complain.

The way you have it setup now is good.

Trucks with stock turbos should be in the stock class.
Aftermarket turbo, no drugs -- street mod class
twins, or drugs, and hanging weight -- extreme.

Perfect. you don't need to spend hours on tech this way. Weigh in, measure the hitch, check the turbo, and head out to the track.

Otherwise, we'd need a different class for each truck out there. I also like how we can enter more than one class to get some more hooks under our belt.

Keep up the good work!

Michael, You guys put on a good fun event for us! I think Tiago (White LMM in Stock class) just showed that smoke means absolutly nothing. I have done work on the truck, and can verify that the truck has the stock motor/trans & converter. He made some changes in the ECM to make it smoke, and it smokes like a dual CP3 motor. Is it making max power smoking like that, absolutly not! He did it for the look...

PS: I'll take you up on the boggers when I get the locker in;). Thanks for putting on good local event's for us...

I agree with jlibert on the classes, but add "single CP3 only" " stock style pump in the street mod

That rule doesn't work. Dual CP3's should still be allowed. Here's three reasons why:

1. I can get a single pump that looks just like stock to flow more fuel than dual pumps.

2. P pump guys can still run a single 13mm pump that will flow more than duals ever will while still fitting into the street mod class.

3. Ultimately, it doesn't matter how much fuel you have. You can run 10
CP3's -- if you don't have the air to match, it's just wasted. The single charger in the street mod class will help limit that.

In my opinion, making a dual CP3 rule would just be to keep John Esteves out of the street class, which isn't right. If he can pull the weight off, and run a single turbo with no nitrous, we can't punish him for running good.

No matter what route you go with the rules, there will always be a truck in there that runs better than the rest. Just wait till a twin turbo stock 6.4 comes out with 550+ hp and kicks everyone's ass in the stock class. :)
