Truckers, lets see your rigs!

I would say it would be possible to trace the transaction but it's not something that would happen during a normal inspection, but if u happened to be in a serious accident or anything with loss of life anything could be possible.

The scenerio I heard was just a scale house check. Got him for fictitious logbook. But this story was also told by a truck driver.

Loose leaf logs and plenty of stamped and addressed envelopes, when ever you are done with a load or trip everything that actually pertains to that load goes in the envelope, and you would have other logs that make everything jive up to date. They cannot look in the envelopes.

Not saying it couldn't happen but I highly doubt it. Unless his paperwork was so bad the officer was just stacking up charges. I spent 13 years on the road and never had a dot officer look into my logs that hard, but I made sure I knew where I started my day and my last fuel. The sharp ones will ask you that.

I hear ya.
My memory sucks lol. I don't remember anything so even if I'm not trying to lie that may put me in a spot. Lol

Got a few statists around here I see......sorry but cops aren't the all powerful beings, they have to follow the law. I WILL NOT SHOW them anything other than my logbook and the paperwork for the crap that's in my trailer. No fuel receipts, no prior load paperwork, no log sheets older than 7 days, and no exceptions.

And never volunteer your logbook. I never took it into the scale house with me, I only ever took my bill of lading, registration, and insurance, out of sight, out of mind. And in the event you get pulled over, throw the logbook on the floor where they can't see it, same reason.

The problem with the trucks at my shop other than hp is the e-log!

They can kiss my ass with the DUI checkpoints too. I have a constitutional right that protects me from being harassed while traveling, I don't give two chits about their opinion on it or how much time it takes or how much of a scene it causes......I will not play their game.

The day I'm required to run elogs, I'm out. I'll find something else to do.

Just know that it was mentioned when my girlfriends dad had his 2011 in for a CEL, they replaced a pressure relief valve and mentioned the pump but didn't say it needed to be replaced.

Shoot me a pm with the ESN. I will see what I find

People net sucks from a mechanics stand point as much as our drivers hate it

Elogs are fine. Its the EOBR crap that is gonna chase me out. Look up Eclipse Logs. That's what I use and I'd never go back to paper logs.

It makes you lazy but it is faster if you have to relog a whole week. It calculates your 70 hr clock and average mph for the day if you choose go enter your mileage. Just all around makes my life easier. You do need to carry a printer with you in the truck in case you need to print logs for the dot but I've only been asked twice for that. Usually I just print the whole week out when I turn my weekly paperwork in.

Sounds too complicated...
