Truckers, lets see your rigs!

Out a fleet of 15 trucks from 2013-2015, nine have had inframes with less than 300k on the clock and they're constantly having DPF/SCR system issues, and there's at least one headed to the shop every week. I'm friends with all these guys on FB and I hear about it all the time. I'll just keep this 04 KW with a cat and not worry about any of that BS. haha

The problems are not hard to fix. A good tech will get it taken care of. Also I bet those in frames were pump failures and were covered under warranty. No way anything else is causing an in frame in that short of a life span. And yes they might not be up to par to the old standards but for today's standards it's the best engine on the market. With that said a signature would be a great engine to compare to that cat. Can't blame cummins for meeting emissions with the forced Hand of the EPA. Other brands either gave up or are much much worse with failures. Notice the stuff that fails is all intended to meet emissions and has little time to test

Why is that fuel pump not a direct recall, that kind of issue should be fixed before it junks an engine.

Funny thing is the same outfit has five western stars with 550hp DD15's and they have been almost trouble free...

It is a campaign now. Anyone you know that has a 2250 should take them to a cummins shop and the plungers and barrels will get swapped out. Also if you run good clean oil, the pumps don't fail half as often

Just know that it was mentioned when my girlfriends dad had his 2011 in for a CEL, they replaced a pressure relief valve and mentioned the pump but didn't say it needed to be replaced.

Question... In the event of getting pulled over... What would a person legally have to show the officer?

We've been hit and miss with the ISX... Our two 12's have been flawless. Our two 13's have been a headache after hitting 100k. Nonstop DPF and regen issues. We have 10 Mack's with the D13 and they've been very impressive surprisingly. Out pull the sub 500hp Cats and Detroits in our fleet, getting solid mileage (6+ pulling tanker) and no issues so far.

Anything he asks for. Don't be one of those pricks. Just be nice and courteous and get on about your day. If you aren't doing anything wrong, you should be fine. $.02

yes sir, no sir ,anything you say sir..

hes got a gun..

and a radio to get help...

batons really suck...

and the hood of those cars get really really really hot

I saw a post the other day about how to get through a road block/DUI checkpoint without rolling your window down.

I'd pay money for that jackass to pull up to one and the cop knock it out with a baton. Pricks. We hire these folks to protect us and enforce laws then we act like that? Don't drink and drive and you won't get caught. Makes me mad. Can you tell? LOL

I'm not one of those pricks but... If my log book isn't quite gonna add up with paperwork earlier this week, Id prefer not to girlie that paperwork to him.

I assure you, it's always yes sir, no sir, etc. I'm very nice And polite even when treated like **** like I have been before.

And sorry to not add up to the perfect upstanding citizen award such as you guys but I'm not ok with handing him bill of ladings for loads that have already been delivered.

phuck cops and DUI checkpoints. Inconvenience hundreds of people and just write seatbelt tickets. The wasted drunk guys never go through the checkpoints. When you don't have time for their chit and go around them they act like Nazi's. For the record I rarely drink, maybe once a year. Have never driven drunk or even buzzed. Just pisses me off when the actual drunks never get messed with and I get to sit in a checkpoint with 2 pissed kids while a cop that I went to school with and was a total douche his entire life wants to know where I've been and where I'm going.

I've worked on a guys 6 axle dump truck that had no brake shoes....not worn out shoes I mean they were physically missing from several of the lift axles and the brake lines kinked and had zip ties on them. He's still running that POS but I get DOT'd and get window tint ticket.

Everything he asks for, your best friend is the usps. You have to show him everything in your possession, ie prior 7 day log sheets any bills of lading any scale tickets, fuel receipts and toll tickets. The best thing you can do is put as many of the supporting documents in the mail as you can and make sure you make it all jive at the end when you turn in your logs to your carrier. The FMCSA mandates you have the prior 7 days worth of logs in your possession to be inspected at any time, nothing states you also need to have all other supporting documentation for those past 7 days. Do you understand what I am saying? Just be careful the dot frowns on false entries in a log book.$.02

Yes I understand completely. That's essentially the answer I was looking for instead of the other ones. Which is why my fuel receipts will not have time stamps.
However, I've heard they can call in the transaction number and see what time you were there. Is this true?
