Truckers, lets see your rigs!

Finally saw a vid of this thing running. I really hope it's just tuning issues but it sounded ROUGH!!!!!

Where is said video?

Send him a request. I sent him a PM telling him I just wanted to follow his build and he accepted it.

That's just the way the camera recorded the sound. He's won Best of show working class down in Louisville and hauled at least two loads that I know of since then. And it didn't sound that way down in Louisville I know that for a fact.

Just pulled a hill at 55mph that usually slowed me down to 40ish......I F'ing love HP

We have a fleet around 14 trucks with the DT466E in them and I can't stand them they are nice when they run right but they really suck when they don't. We've in-framed two the third is in the shop now waiting on the head to get back from the machine shop the cheapest one came in at $11,000 and $15,000 for the first one but it needed new injectors, charge air cooler, and radiator.

My advice is to sell it someone and go buy your 8.3 Cummins.

I miss horsepower

What's hp?

Why would a 5.9 not work on that application?

We have a 5.9 in a F650 with a 16ft dump bed on it and it's decent empty but it struggles with a load on it. I've toyed with the idea of having it tuned and deleted but that's as far as I've taken it just because I can see someone twisting of the output or input shaft with a heavy load on it.

Why would a 5.9 not work on that application?

we have a 6.7 in are F650 and it sucks a$$! not granted its only a 285hp tune in it :nail: but a 8.3 would be nice! The 6.7 wouldn't be bad if they would only grant me the money I asked for to buy set of small injectors and build a small twin setup :evil

I said this before and I'll say it again, the 5.9 and 6.7s are impressive little engines for the amount of power they can make. But most guys here are performance oriented. A 5.9 or 6.7 will never make the torque an 8.3 will make. You have to think of the application Jory is using this engine for. He isn't going to be turning 5k or pouring 800 ccs of fuel to it. This engine will be operating mostly in the torque ban no the hp ban. Need a longer stroke engine.

I have an FL80 that I pulled a 3126E CAT and dropped in a 5.9....Bring your 8.3L torque and come see me;)

A set of Mach 4's, Comp, and a 62/68/14 charger and she'll ROLL ON up to about 55K lbs gross.

Now, will it run with an L10 of the same power, probably not...but it will EAT that old CAT, and on less fuel.
