Truckers, lets see your rigs!

This was my thought.. Pretty much to the t.

It's basically geared like 4.10's in a little truck, and with a 9 speed you have more gears than a little truck. It's 100% happy.

Now, would I rather have a big engine, sure. Does this work, yep. And it cost less than buying another truck and moving all the hardware over (crane, bed, etc)

So a tuned 5.9 with a set of nozzles and an aftermarket turbo will make a 3126 with stock parts look bad.

I'm sure the 450hp marine versions just run absolutely awful too. Personally I would have probably swapped it with a C7 Acert and had it tuned.

The swap to something not HEUI is certainly always a plus

I'm not a fan of the 3116's or 3126's, I've worked on them enough in cat front end loaders to know they suck. Haa

We have a 3116 in our GMC grain truck and I don't think its to bad. Sure it doesn't have a lot of power but it beats the old c60 with a 366 in it lol. I will say at 40k the ole 3116 does take a bit to get up to speed.

Absolutely.

I'm not comparing apples to apples, don't see where I did. I was simply pointing out the fact that a 5.9L will work in a big truck, where some were saying it was too small, too low powered, etc.

As for swapping in a tuned C7...Why? The 5.9 bolted right up, the harnesses fit the truck, and EVERYTHING works. Cruise, high idle, exhaust brake, everything. I can't see a C7, being that it's about 7 or 8 years newer than the truck, doing that without extensive wiring work. If I had time to do that, I would have put the M11 in there that was sitting on the shelf. I work on my trucks out of necessity, I make our money working for other people.

The N-14 I helped overhaul is back to work! Industrial injection extrude honed injectors, Borg warner turbo from industrial, and no longer a single chimney fagmobile. Not too bad lookin for a wide nose T800

I'm with you on this one. I've seen a few done up that were pretty sharp! I don't remember the axle being set back that far on the ones I've seen though.

I've really started to like them since I bought mine. What I have envisioned for the truck it should look pretty bad a$$!

Picture of mine from the guy I bought it from. Who is also a good friend of mine.ImageUploadedByTapatalk1428681222.131356.jpg

Rick, I couldn't tell if it was an FLC or an FLD Classic. It's definitely a cool ass truck. Those set back axle FLCs are so ugly they're cool, IMOH.

Are those 6" pipes? How tall are they? I'm putting black 12'6" pipes on mine. I like the way they look in that dump.
