Truckers, lets see your rigs!

6-10% grade 1-2 miles long.. Could the ole Cummins be turned down?

Possibly, or the truck is just setup absolutely awful, any big cam power truck should not have gears faster than around 3.70 in my opinion, and even then a 13 is ideal.

The W900B was setup this way and didn't have a whole lot done with it and had no problem staying with a 475 electronic engine but you had to use the rpm. That is what will actually save the pistons, the problem comes when you go trying to lug the engine below 1500-1600.

Ok, so this Cummins likes higher RPM? I was trying to keep it in that 1500-1700 range

I was told when I bought it that it has 3.55s

Was going to tell you a buddy got a truck towed in to his shop today. Rear driveshaft fell out at highway speed. Pinion shaft in rear pig looks like it was sawed in half right behind the bearing. Diff was new this summer from Weller. I'll let you know what they say about it. Weller always says they use Eaton shafts not Chinese junk like Trucks & Parts so we'll see.

I checked the rear ends everything is perfect back there. I thought maybe a rearend locked up but nope. It's something in the trans I'm going to take it to Grand Rapids myself and if they won't give me any kind of break I'm going to valley. I've bought a ton of stuff from Weller to just get told its my fault. 3 transmissions, 4 power dividers, 3 rear ends in different trucks over the last couple years. This is the first time I've needed a warranty.

I think they are horrible. I never liked the idea when they released it.
I'd like to see an icon 900 to see if Kenworth got anything right.

They did, icon 900's are SWEET

That's what u was expecting to be told but was hoping their was an outlet for aftermarket/salvage

Quite honestly it's the best place I have found. The dealership near me is very good at finding the parts I need and reasonably priced.

I have been told there is place in Tennessee or Kentucky that has all of the extra/ out dated parts for Freightliner and the dealerships will use them.

What exactly are you looking for?

Hood (Think I found an original aluminum)
Dash (but can a FLD dashed be swapped in?) though it gets away from original)
Cab lights & Lens (LED be neat and considering going with a universal style)
And a fuel tank with fuel level sender (I hope Freightliner made more than just FLCs with 23" tanks) Mines been smashed up and shortened. Sucks not knowing how much fuel ya got and using a lath for measuring is kinda crude. Lol

Cab lights you can get at any chrome shop website.

Hood and tanks find a junk yard. The only difference between a tank on an FLC and an FLC, is that an FLD is a side draw tank, they have perforated tube that run down along side the tank, there is no cross over from side to side. I am contemplating plating taking off my 100 gallon tanks and outing 80 gallon tanks on my truck off an FLD. Sending units look the same.

I would love an aluminum hood on my truck!

I will find out shortly how many parts will work between an FLD and an FLC. We have a junk FLD in our yard I am going to scavenge a ton of parts off of, doors, dash, can air ride, you name it. I actually bought FLD door handles for my truck.

I think a lot of parts will interchange. My truck is an 86 not so sure of the pre-84s though.

I agree, those makeshift vents on the side of the hood look almost tacky.
Almost?!? Screams Vatozone stick on! They definitely could've done without that.

That would be cool! A model type hood with a straight cowl and the old skool offset KW badges would be a good start.
They should've put the old square style Pete logos on the P&C.

I'm looking for 2 things. I have a buddy looking for a CL Mack tractor with a E-9 in it. And I'm looking for a 3406B or C. Located in central pa but willing to travel.

It's a different kind of retarded to put Kenworth lights on a Peterbilt.

Beautiful scrap that ugly moose bumper I love that truck. The red in my kw badges is fading I'd like them to be clear like that as well. I like how they made the stacks straight as well no little offset. I wasn't aware you could get an icon glider
