Truckers, lets see your rigs!

Have any of you guys dealt with the Hendrickson htb suspension?

Had a few trucks come in for work that had it but never for suspension. Always on very light weight spec’d equipment and mostly ProStar junk. Never drove one with a load.

Yeah it seems to be real popular with the IH stuff. I was looking around at lightweight suspension stuff and found it but there isn't much real world info.

And back in the shop it goes.

Mileage stuff still or something new?

Mileage mostly. I’ve got it up to 5mpg by treating the piss outta the fuel. Got a guy that says he can probably get it narrowed down.
Hopefully gonna be able to get some power back too.
He doesn’t like where the fuel pressure is. I’ve talked to him several times on the phone.
I like the fact he wants to start all over and check the simple things, that I don’t feel like everyone else was checking like I’d asked. Air to air, fuel pressure stuff, etc. from talking to him, I have more faith in him so far. Time will tell.

I still think a turbo would help a bunch, both of the trucks we put the "stage 1" on picked up power and a bunch of mileage.

What's the fuel pressure now?

So with all the different tunes, codes ect. No one thought to start with the basics?:nail:

There’s another problem somewhere. Truck didn’t used to get this bad of mileage.

Or better yet combine the best of the two! Take the engine from that plastic POS put it in the peterbilt. Let me tune. 7+ MPG fully loaded. 650+ hp.

You’re an idiot. Plain and simple... it’d be amazing if you and the other idiot in this tread found a different forum.

No, we did. They did whatever. However, I think some of my requests were going in one ear and out the other. We very recently caught some lies being told and once again, had to find another mechanic. I’ve done a lot of searching and asking around and this guy is supposed to one of the best in my area. Long story short, I think some corners were being cut.

80% of uprate requests stem from truckers trying to cover a symptom.

We are running a smaller tune now than we have ever been. And have been for months. We didn’t update trying to cover a problem up. I’m smarter than that.

I was talkin to a new customer today with everything from a 6NZ, to SDP to BXS, his bxs he said has never gotten much over 4, where his 6NZ can get around 7 if he stays under 64 mph. So don't feel too bad, you could have that BXS. He seemed to have had too much confidence in his mechanic as well

Lol you put a Driptroit in that truck I’ll personally find you and burn it to the ground with my flamethrower.

My last 1500mi I got 4.77mpg, which isn’t much different than what Allan posted a few pages back. However I’m doing it with twice the power, easily twice the weight and a 50’ 108” wide trailer that’s as aerodynamic as a brick in the left lane. Bring your Detroit on Allan. Now sure I’ll get 77.4 mpg when I get my Volvo from Leiffi but until then....

Anyone else notice it’s taking him a long time to come back with pics of his 1100hp single charger green monster?

My last tank was 3.4 if it makes you feel any better and it's a very slow 3.4.

You guys need HP, this B was consistently in the 4’s @ around 800hp*.

*this was measured on an American dyno so you can easily remove one zero for the accurate European measurement.

OK, time for my stupid question of the week.

T800, single exhaust....need a muffler. Single pipe is a bit obnoxious, and without moving the tanks back and rearranging the whole truck, really can't put a dual setup that will look decent on it. Most mufflers I'm finding say dual exhaust only...

Aero Cab sleeper that the exhaust comes up behind the cab on.

Any ideas for a muffler, or anyone seen a decent way to tone one down?
Chris
