Truckers, lets see your rigs!

I'm curious, Allen, what with all the fuel saving sh!t and anti-idle and bscf you've done, why is your fuel mileage so terrible? I run 90k gross run 3-5mph over the speed limit everywhere and idle probably 50hrs a week. 600hp C15 in a 379 with double coin tires just givin her.

Everyone knows that the only numbers that matter are what the BSFC’s are on your dataplate sticker. That’s the amount of fuel needed to make advertised HP, real world working numbers don’t matter. Lmao

Who said it's terrible? There's a bunch of guys doing the same thing and they aren't close to what I get.

Well if it hasn’t changed from what you posted pages back, it isn’t awesome. If all your loads are 80k or less with an open flat bed with what you say is the greatest BSFC engine, and you can’t get much better than ME it’s bad.

What did I post a few pages back? Im seriously pulling a blank

Last tank was 6.3 and I'm at 6.1 for the past month. Clunker needs a valve set and I'm running 67 in 12th which is a huge penalty.

Edit: Yankee gallons not the Queens gallons

If he’s only ~.5mpg behind you driving a brick with more weight and speeding with an engine that the green lovers swear drinks fuel, that doesn’t make yours look awesome. I’m 4.47 with twice the power, twice the load and twice the trailer and nothing I do is for fuel mileage.

Except i guess it is almost 60* and everyone is idling waiting to unload except me so I guess I have gone green today. I only checked my mileage because people ask. Their jaws hit the pavement when I say idgaf about fuel mileage. It’s not that I’m a billionaire and have money to burn but I like my truck and I like what I do. If I had to drive like I had an egg under my pedal at 55 in the right lane with an underpowered truck just to make a little more money it’s not worth it to me.

Actually it looks like he's almost a full mpg back. I bet he would be in the 4s doing what I do running the same routes.

Here's the latest mods with pics for proof:

- super singles at 180psi. The smaller the contact patch the better!
- wheel covers with "screw compound turbos" on them
- air tabs! Air tabs everywhere! Top bottom left right. On my shifter, inside my toolboxes, covering the brake drums.
- I had surgery to implant an air tab in my scalp. That way I can modify the aerodynamic profile by sticking my head out the window
- side skirts with "competition diesel can suck my ass" on them
- half height roll tarp. Pictures of the Queen all over it.
- I've hired a small crew of Mexicans that apply Mexican bondo (duct tape) from the back of the sleeper to the front of the rolling tarp system while going down the interstate
- One turbo 3000d vada......... On each injector!
- hydrogen injection system powered by Elon Musks hopes and dreams

Truthfully I wish it did more in the mpg front. There's a few things I want to do but nothing much has changed other than the gearing. For actual mpg "devices" it doesn't have anything. Except a bunk heater and engine heater. I messed up my Nexiq so I cant do anything there. Plus ive been battling ****ty Detroit reman injectors forever. Spill valves and broken solenoid screws.

Just slowing down from 67-68 to 60 (direct) will get me a big gain. But I knew pulling this stuff I would be running faster.

I would like to know who came up with those solenoid screws and put their balls out like a cigarette.

You just sent up the Kevin Rutherford bat signal. Lol

You Canadians wouldn’t looks so stupid if you would leave your trailer axles spread like they’re supposed to be there eh!

Please explain this...
he runs heavier, on crappier roads, runs faster... but if he did what you do (lighter, slower, better roads), he’d get worse mileage?

Since October:

- haven't been east of 29
- haven't been on 80 or south of 80
- havent had a single mile grossed less than 75k
- maybe 200 miles bobtail
- there's not a lot of interstate driving other than 25 in wy and 90 in mt

Don't forget the Canadian prairies run straight #1 all winter. Nd and mt run a mix IIRC.

I can get him a few loads if he wants to try it out!

So BRE, got enough seat time to notice a difference yet?

Seems to run a little better... fuel mileage is unknown as of right now.
However this morning we had something happen I am not ok with and we’ll see if it was a one time deal or if it’s a problem.
I warmed it up this morning, left the house, went and got fuel, and headed down about 30 minutes to my unload. Had to wait for them to test my product for 20 minutes or so. I shut the truck off and was cleaning it up and what not. When they told me to head up to reload, when I started it again... it popped pretty good and got a pretty decent little cloud of smoke belched out. Something it’s never done.

Im sure one or more of the cat pros will chime in, but im wondering if they got the fuel pressure soo high its compromised the o rings. Sure sounds like that to me. Did your mechanic pull injectors and bput new o-rings in?

No. It’s only done it that one time.
I’m still wondering if an injector is screwed up and dribbled fuel or was hung open a little. I still don’t like the idle after it’s been worked, but he didn’t have a loaded trailer to try and run it. All he could do is go bobtail.
Were gonna try to get by there after I’ve been running it so he can do a cutout test some time.
