14"x6"x82"x.375" scrapyard steel tubing, liquid fill and drain, mounted on 2"x2"x.25" rails that slide into 2.5"x2.5"x.25" receivers on the frame rails to tuck it in close for the trailer ride.

Go4LO, that looks real clean. I like it.
JerrodGlover said:Nice box, by my calculations the water weighs 280 pounds, any idea what the box weighs?
SmokeShow said:Hot damn!!! You're still working on it. You ever had it hooked to a sled yet??? You should venture into KY with it in 09 if so. Would love to see it in person again.
Thanks. Total materials were under $300, but we've got some time into it .
Thanks. The completed box, rails, and hitch tubing together were just under 400 lbs. The plan is to partially fill the box with lead weights to get close to the limit and then use the water for adjustability on different scales.
Mitch, good to hear from you. This year was crazy at work (lots of traveling), so I didn't get a chance to do any of the finish work on it until this month. Need to get a good 2.6 turbo and a guillotine, and we'll hopefully start hitting some pulls in '09. Looks like you've got a new project in your sig - sounds awesome. How's the '02 running?

if a guy were to weld a receiver to a plate and mount that where the factory tow hooks are on a 3rd gen. then run 2" tube out say 6" then a piece across the end connecting them to hang about 12-1400 lbs woould tht be too much weight mounted to the tow hooks?
My BFF did the tow hook think, not sure if it will hold 1200 or more, but he ran antwhere from 500 to 700 on it no propblem. I took 2 of the reciever extentions, and welded the to the out side of the from, were the open end faces the ground, then when i build my weight bar, i just 90 it out and then 45 it to where i hang the weight. its pretty tuff, i have put over 1000 on it.well whats the best way to attach a bracket to it where it will hold?
I get the bar tommorrow its behind the shop
Not cheap, but here is the one I made last year. The box itself weighs in around 500lbs
