trying to decide what turbo to get. the s465 will be an off the shelf turbo and the s366 is from ED. its the one that blkram has for sale over is classifieds. turbo will be used for DD and sled pulling at the brush pulls and county fair pulls.
any opinions are welcome.

what exhaust housing is on the s465? For a DD I think the 366 would be a better choice, for the pulls I would rather have the s465.

I've been reading up on the s465 with the .9 housing and it doesnt sound like it would be a bad turbo on the street...jflagg said his s465 lights around 2k

the 465 with the a t4 .9 housing. which i understand the .9 housing is = to a 16cm.

no machining, no speacial housing work, just stock. 64x95 compressor, 83x74 turbine wheel and .9 a/r housing.

Don't some of the 64mm s400s flow less than a s366 ETT wheel? I'm not sure but my gut says the s366 is a much better deal especially considering it came from ED just my 2 cents. This assuming you don't plan to have additional work done on the s465.

ive never heard of a 64mm ett wheel

I'm not a sled puller, but I don't get why someone would choose to use a larger, slower spooling turbo, that moves less air :confused:

The setup includes the .88 housing with a ED T3/T4 adapter that can be used with a ED external gate.
Also comes with a ED machined 14cm housing with a ED wastegate spring style actuator, housing has the spacer on the back to allow for more puck travel, and the puck area has been machined as well.

Currently the highest-flowing S300 unit available, with maximum compressor flow over 80 lb/min. Will service 800+HP.
* Wheel Dimensions:
Compressor: 66.1mm inducer, 91.4mm exducer, with exclusive Extended Tip Technology.
Turbine: 79.8mm inducer, 73.4mm exducer, with machined back-cut (clip) of turbine blade trailing edge, for improved turbine flow. Cast in Inconel 713, for high-temperature operation.
* Housing A/R:
Compressor: .55, with 4.0" hose-type inlet, and 3.0" hose-type discharge
Turbine: .88, with 'open' volute, featuring a 'T04-style' turbine inlet flange (3.25" x 2.75") and quick-release v-band discharge flange. Cast in ductile iron.
* This is the turbo that's simply dominating the 'T04'-frame classes, direct-fit compatibility for many popular turbochargers on the market. These units are brand-new, with no core, and are made in the U.S.A.

ALL OF THIS INFO IS FROM OVER ON THE CLASSIFIED PAGE ON THE S366.

i can get an s465 for $800. plus i am going to need a t3 t4 adapter, a compressor outlet elbow and a downpipe. so about $1,000 for everything.

or i can just buy the s366 with two exhaust housing for 1,400
one housing is a t4 the other is a t3.

I bought an s465 for my truck and sold my SilverBullet that I had without doing much research. I'm wondering if I went backwards in airflow myself? Though, the s465 should be a more robust charger... Can't seem to get a straight answer on what each flows... I've heard anywhere from 65 to 90 lbs/min for a bone stock s465. Thats a large margin, I also heard 90 for the SilverBullet too. I would bet the s366 spools quit a bit faster since the wheels are lighter and the shaft smaller, though my s465 spools nearly as fast as my HX40 did before my p-pump swap. I have alot more fuel now though...

i am also looking into the future. i might do a ppump swamp on day and i dont wanna have to upgrade turbos.

It was my understanding that the 64mm s400 was a s464 which flows less than the s366.

For what its worth my s465 with the t4 .9 spools at 1800 rpm

I too had a silver bullet before my s465, i don't have any dyno numbers to back it up but my seat o pants meter tells me the s465 pulls way harder than the bullet did.
