which turbo? s465 or a s366?

sounds like it to me, if it was summer and i was working i would buy that s366 that your considering. Its a pretty good deal, and it would spool alot sooner then my s400/k31 hybrid does. I can deal with it lighting around 2000rpm especially with 4.10's.

You can't really compare a K31 hybrid to an S400.... Considering the HUGE difference in shaft size and wait, I'm running a K31 hybrid, 71/74/.9 and it lights at 1800rpm.. But I am switching to an S471 for the larger shaft and more options of turbine wheels and housings.

Red Dodge2, Didn't you already p-pump then UN p-pump your truck:poke:?
Go with the 66, it will be better on the street, which is where it sounds like your truck spends most of its time anyway. And it should make good power with the 6x18's, a lil big for my taste on the street, but to each his own.

Maybe you just really want to open the hood and see that big ol s400 hangin off the manifold though.

Do some research, a 71mm K31 hybrid is said to spool faster and more fun to drive than a SB...... I'm actually selling my K31 for decent, its got 500miles, polished housing billet wheel, and a couple other goodies

I think for much street driving with such a large injector he may need to stick to the S366. It should help make it cleaner running with not as much smoke.

Ive got more fuel than he does, and drive mine smoke free when I want, the K31 Hybrid is a riot on the street. I do have hours and hours of tuning...

what are the specs on the k31....dont see how it could spool faster than a bullet

Like stated do some research, its an s400 "sized" compressor. Its a 71/74/.9 I just read a thread Where guys are spooling an S475 better than their bullets did........

That's because you, like many people, are only thinking about the wheel sizes(and usually just one of the sizes at that). You have to look at the whole package.

Try doing some searches for things like k31, A5K, or Aurora 5000 and see what you come up with.

Here's just one thread where they talk about an A5K vs a SB: Back to back testing -- Results - Competition Diesel.Com - Bringing The BEST Together

i realize there are more things that factor into spool up other than just wheel sizes thats why i asked im here to learn just like everyone else

Me too, I've got as much to learn as anyone here. Not trying to be a prick or anything, just trying to suggest other things to look at. I happened to do this same search not that long ago, its kind of interesting what you find.

Murphy if you copy and paste the URL of the thread into a post it automatically makes a link for you.

:Cheer:

I as well have lots to learn, thanks again for the info.
By the way good thread, lots of good information!

who told you this? I keep seeing you post things that someone recommended. I dont think its even possible to cut the 12cm housings to fit 73mm wheel.

I think you could but the wall would be way too thin, KTAcummins told me 14cm was the smallest to go for with my S400's 74mm turbine.

chirs at E.D. said i could run a s300 or i guess s366 with the 6x16's. if anyone knows turbos he is the guy to talk to.

how would a s465 specs- 64.5/74/.9 do with the 6x16s or 18's with just a smarty on the road?
